About five albums with the same sound is about as many as you can get away with (unless you are Motorhead), and I think they understand this. That or the passing of Joe and Mario's mother had a strong influence for the better. Death Metal purists will probably hate this, but more open minded prog metal fans will probably love it.

Not sure about it, it is not really similar to any of those.
It'a very atmospheric post metal which can be compared to Isis for example.

And their new album is with a guest singer who has a very particular voice, so this is different anyway.

Band definitely needed a new direction; their old stuff is great, but is a little predictable at this point. I think this has a lot of potential.

Very promising initiative, we'll see if it pays off.

I started with From Mars to Sirius. I would probably start there as it's a very standout and phenomenal metal album.

Gojira are one of those bands that have always hinted at having some talent in making more melodic and more subdued music but they've only ever teased at it. They made this apparent on a handful of tracks throughout their discography like World to Come and Born In Winter to pick a few. These tracks have always been standouts to me, and something I've wanted to hear more of from them and I am really excited to see that we might get just that on their next record.

I really like the sound of this.

Agreed. I've never been a massive fan of these guys, but this sounds very interesting.
