Messenger tease Threnodies

2016-02-22 by bnelso55 | 2 Comments
Progressive rock newcomers Messenger have premiered the cover art and song “Balearic Blue” from their forthcoming sophomore album Threnodies, which will release via Inside Out Music on April 22. The song recalls the folk-tinged psychedelia explored on the troupe’s 2014 debut Illusory Blues, but the band hinted in a press statement that the future may hold a few surprises, stating fans can expect subsequent preview tracks to offer “something different".

The band will perform some of the new music on their upcoming UK tour with the Von Hertzen Brothers, which kicks off at Waterfront in Norwich on March 17.

^Definitely. "Midnight" was one of my top songs from 2014. This track is good, if a bit uneventful. I'm excited to see where they go with this the rest of the album though!
