Very nice. Really hope they don't release 2-3 singles before the album. Songs by deftones that are out of context of the album generally feel underwhelming to me.

Anyway the Eros thing was just something I'd seen some fans speculating on because they picked up on the date and tried to put 2+2 together.

A film titled "Eros" was released on April 8, 2005. 2005 is 11 years ago. Opeth has released 11 albums. This confirms that this album will indeed be Eros.

How could you not like Koi but enjoy the rest of their stuff? That album doesn't sound out of place with previous ones in the slightest. Songs from that and Diamond Eyes could switch albums and you wouldn't even guess they were recorded at different times.

Super excited for this! Last couple albums were super solid, and I feel like this album is going to be dark and emotional considering events of the last year.

Eh idk, the stuff from koi went down a lot smoother and was generally poppier. They are kinda similar but definitely distinct.

KNY is produced a LOT better than Diamond Eyes. The songwriting is also much more expansive.

Chino just posted an image of Martin L. Gore with the launch date of the new album on twitter, so that Gore tracklist probably is real

Y'all are full of shit if you're honestly trying to tell me the average person who hasn't listened to either album could separate out the songs of Diamond Eyes and Koi. They'd probably do slightly better than random chance at sorting them.

I mean, I was listening to Tempest yesterday after seeing this news and forgot that was on Koi... could've sworn it was Diamond Eyes. And I've listened to both quite a number of times.

tempest is by far the best track off KNY

i heard the hd tracks version of koi no yokan and it just wasn't as pleasing of a listening experience as the actual released version
didn't really sound more "dynamic" so much as just, same songs weaker master

Really hoping this is their Eros album. I'm more interested in whether this will be an album sounding more like either Pre-White Pony or Post-White Pony. Guess we'll all wait and see!

It seems interesting that this band doesn't seem to be hyping their album at all. Like, they aren't releasing any info even though it's months away. I can't decide how to take it. Either they are trying to keep it under wraps because of some marketing ploy and they want to make damn sure that it's gonna be good, or they're unsure of if they're happy with it and are arguing about what to include/how to edit/whether or not it's good.
