Of course don't matter all the time, especially in pop music. But in a ballad they somehow have to or at least should. They just give a song meaning.
Not saying the music isn't (more) important to convey something. It's essential for atmosphere and a general emotional idea. But without lyrics it's somewhat like screaming or crying. Obviously has a message, obviously emotional, but almost completely unspecific without anything being said that tells you what's going on.

A few years ago if you told me I would be listening to JB and enjoying it, i'd tell you that you're nuts. This song isn't bad but What Do You Mean and Sorry are actually pretty good pop songs. I guess we were all teenagers at one point and we've all done some really stupid shit, so I'd say JB seems serious about changing and well, I think he deserves a chance.

The fact that every mistake you make is publicised as well by gossip mags and tabloids probably didn't help. If you got up each morning and saw the front page of Heat saying you'd done something stupid who knows how you would turn out developmentally? It's something you see in so many childhood stars whose awkward teen years are put on display and discussed around the globe. I respect him a lot for wanting to clean up his act, and I would whatever music he makes, because being a child star would be hell. Also album at the moment is a good 3-3.5 so that's cool as well.
