New dude is solid--I think he'll sound better when he's singing his own vocal lines. This was inevitable

Dan doesn't know how to stay in a band.

I suppose as long as he's still with TesseracT it's not so bad

He's also in Piano and Haji's Kitchen. Dude's determined to have performed in as many bands as possible, but I also kinda understand his desire to try out different things.

Ugh. I love his voice but I can't get emotionally attached to any of his bands because he'll just leave them in a year or two.

Well he's been with Haji's Kitchen for about 4 years now but has rarely (if ever) played live with them due to other commitments.

Dude's voice is pretty sweet. I dig, kinda reminds me of Oceansize. Still waiting for that In Colour album to come out.

He also isn't the best for writing lyrics, I feel if he just stuck to TesseracT his song writing would improve. I mean think how many songs this guy has written in the last 4 years...

He's apparently been recording vocals for a new Haji's album (well his previous work with them only had like 5 or 6 new songs on it, two were re-records of the DragonBall songs and the rest were instrumentals on the end), as well as WMBB and TesseracT so he must be pretty busy right now.

This rules

Well. I like me some Dan but I do feel this is best. He belongs with Tesseract and Skyharbour can evolve into it's own beast. I think think this guy with work quite well.

Omg this new guy's voice is so good I beat my fists in the couch hysterically for a minute or so in excitement.

Eric's voice is superb, and this news means Tesseract and Skyharbor can play a show together now.

Not sold on the new guy yet, but he'll probably do better with proper production and mixing into the songs, and with his own material

It's annoying how much talent Dan possesses but how rarely he sticks with something he starts. Still 'waiting' on In Colour with Sikth's Dan Weller.

Not too bothered though, Eric can sing.. holy smokes.

In all honesty, I don't mind. Dan was fantastic on Illusion but ruined some parts of Guiding Lights for me so as far as I'm concerned it's for the best.

Expected this. Emery sounds great for Skyharbor, though!

I'm more excited about hearing Ashe O'Hara with Chris Letchford on islnds.

Dan Tompkins is the equivalent to band hopper extraordinaire Christian Älvestam

The fact that he couldn't reasonably help Skyharbor tour makes it easier to digest this. What started as a slow moving studio project blew up on them quickly (a lot of which is due to Dan's built in fan base).

The fact that Piano and TesseracT are both local outfits (to him) means those bands will be much easier to remain viable touring outfits.

I'm dying for that In Colour album (which is still alive per Dan)

this was sad to hear but it seems Emery has the pipes to fill Dan's shoes so that's a relief.

Wow Emery has a great voice! No concerns here.

Coming on the heels of Anup being permanently replaced in the band, this is a bodyblow. No doubt Emery has the pipes to sing Tompkins' songs, but does he have the ability to write a vocal line like Evolution? Time will tell I suppose.

I see Dan still being with Tesseract in 5 years time, this transition was inevitable.
