This is the answer to everyone who were crying about the lack of heavy vocals, excellent song.
| |
I wasn't crying!! Shut up!
| |
I really like BTBAM but even for them, this felt disjointed. Haven't particularly enjoyed any of the released tracks but hopefully they sound better in context.
| |
Have to admit that I wasn't crazy about the other two tracks that they've released, but this is really good.
| |
Great song, can't wait for this to finally drop.
| |
This song is definitely much, much better than the last two released.
Definitely a bit disjointed, and I still don't like how they're producing Tommy's voice this round... lacks oomph.
I'm still skeptical about the album, but this song gave me a little bit more faith in it.
| |
first half is pretty good, especially the heavy parts. Second half is too much jerking off on Mike Patton. So far it's still the best out of the 3 released tracks, but doesn't even come close to their older material. This whole album so far seems to consist of recycled Parallax II riffs and a bunch of Queen/Dream Theater worship. I hate to be judging too quickly, but if that is how the entire album will be then one of my favorite bands of all time is dead to me.
| |
^this guy spoke my exact same thoughts
| |
"Second half is too much jerking off on Mike Patton."
Sounds like everything I dislike about this band
| |
I never really took issue with Tommy's vocals on past BTBAM albums. In fact, I kind of love them on the older work but he sounds dreadful here. Too much of trying to sound flashy when he is just incapable of these great clean vocals he's trying to achieve. Instrumentally the song was fine but Tommy completely ruined most of it for me. This album is shaping up to be a 2/2.5 at best from the singles I've heard.
| |
A little less 'meh' than their last two singles.
Needs more Alaska.
| |
Awesome
| |
Also the vocals are fantastic.
| |
This is actually really neat
| |
Patton senpai please notice me!
| |
Coma Ecliptic is gonna be the bomb m8.
| |
I am excites
| |
This is definitely the best track so far.
| |
This track sounds better than the other tracks that have been released so far, but it has little to no flow. It might make sense within the context of the album, but I'm not interested in an album with songs that can't be enjoyed individually. I didn't have that problem with Colors, but I couldn't enjoy the last album for that reason.
| |
This song is the least interesting song for me for the moment. The weakest of the 3. It doesn't even keep my attention, compared to the other 2.
| |
The best song yet!
| |
I don't like it- what a surprise!
| |
This one's my favorite so far but I think I've lost interest in this band
| |
these singles have all been pretty meh...kinda bummed
| |
Thought the other songs so far but this is a promising sign.
| |
hearing such a strong DT influence in these 2 new tracks lol
| |
The album has leaked!
| |
It's good. It's real good. ^
| |
Will be contender for AOY, love all 3 songs so far.
| |
Listening to the album in full now, 5 songs in and it's kinda boring. Like moreso than Parallax even.
We're probably never going to get the songwriting quality of the Colors era again.
| |
not sure how i feel about this album yet. so far its been too much wank and not enough riffs
| |
So much wank. Like enough wank to surpass all of their previous wanking.
| |
hate to say it but...yeah
| |
If they had a better vocalist for the clean vocals, I think I'd actually enjoy a good bit of this more than I am currently. The vocals are just so weak, overproduced, and don't fit the music. This album is definitely heavy on the Dream Theater influence.
| |
good [3.0+], hate this lame pretentious "progressive" title thoughg
| |
This album might be decent. This is the first song i have really liked by them since Colors.
| |
The Great Misdirect sounds just like Colors, but way better.
| |
Coma Ecliptic is a damn good album.
| |
Not digging the album artwork, to be honest.
| |
Well, you're going to spend a lot of hours just looking at the artwork and forgetting about the music. You better write the album off right now.
| |
King Redeem - Queen Serene is tits
| |

No.

Nothing like Dream Theater.
| |
Not bad at all. I'm hoping the rest of the album follows suit.
| |
i like alaska, colors, and misdirect but this band's lost me
| |
Full album is so good, and Dim Ignition into this song is incredible
| |
I loved everything up to (including) colors, liked the great misdirect and parallax I, hell even parts of the parallax II (astral Body and telos in particular) but this lost me as well. I also hate it how everyone just talks about the post silent circus stuff all the time or even only post alaska, when the first two records are way better than anything that came after colors IMO. Many people didn't even give them a try as it seems to me.
| |
"Nothing like Dream Theater."
you're lying to yourself if you really think there is no dream theater worship going on here i mean come on its as bright as day
| |
The dream theater worship wouldn't even be the worst, they have done that ever since colors, what is really bad is how they stopped taking themselves seriously completely with this mess of an album. the fucking circus wank sounds are unbearable in such high doses.
| |
I like their take on Dream Theater better than Dream Theater's take on Dream Theater.
| |
This is growing on me. For me this is better than Future Sequence but not as good as the early material.
| |
I like their take on Dream Theater better than Dream Theater's take on Dream Theater. [2]
| |
I'm absolutely lukewarm on the new record, but it's still better than anything DT has done since SDOIT.
| |
quickly swimming to contender for Aoty if replay value has anything to say about it.
| |
The clean singing always seems to hit notes that don't sound good.. :
| |
Definitely their most "fun" album. Might bump to 4.5 in the future.
| |
half the stuff sounds like it could've been tommy's next solo album
| |
Album is probably the best thing they've done since Colors.
| |
Album is probably the best thing they've done since Colors (2)

Album is probably the best thing they've done since Colors (3)
| |
'half the stuff sounds like it could've been tommy's next solo album'
Dim Ignition for sure. Lovin' this tho.
| |
Definitely better than Parallax II. Will need more time to form a full opinion.
| |
heard this is the best band of all timesz
| |
heard this like 6 times, dont know how you guys think its better than TGM or the parallaxs. the singles are the best songs on the album, and king redeem and the last two tracks are good too
tracks 6-8 are the most dull 25 minutes of their career
| |
the first band in IAMLEGION's favorite bands module is BTBAM ofc he's gonna defend them to the grave

Believe him. Insurrection knows dull.

*begins slow clap*
| |
A slow, boring clap.
Ha!
| |
you want slow and boring listen to rapid calm. after 10 listens i still cant remember it
| |
Sorry, did I type clap? I mean klap.
| |
I just keep hearing these leads from Tommy that totally remind me of Mike Patton. Hyped.
| |
Don't get too excited.
