The teaser of "Psycho" on Instagram sounds awesome, I'm excited to hear it.
| |
Awesome can't wait to hear nothing but nonstop bitching about how bad Muse is now for the next few months
| |
If it's nothing like their last two albums, then it might not actually be bad at all. Unless they realllllly drop the ball.
| |
Except this sounds pretty promising
| |
Awesome news :D Psycho will be on youtube tomorrow a 6pm (GMT) too so that's good too. I'm digging the theme of the album too. I always have a preference to albums that have a theme or an atmosphere.
| |
will suck
| |
yeah they needed to strip the shit that was the last two albums, let's see if they just go back to playing (great) stadium rock or more shit
| |
Why even try anymore?
| |
album will kick ass
| |
greenlinkinmuse
| |
I just hope they realize that there are literally millions of people around the world that want them to "strip away the additional things that we've experimented with on the last two albums".
| |
that album art is incredible
| |
...ly bad
| |
it's alright
| |
Holy Fuck is that album art shit.
| |
The album art is attention-getting, that's for sure.
What's on the screen appears to be a play on the 'Absolution' art.
| |
I kinda like that album art but at the same time I have the feeling it has become very conformist to denounce conformity and manipulation. Is it supposed to mean that if you listen to this album, you're not part of the flock ? Because if that's the case, I'll definitely listen to it.
| |
I actually like the album art...
| |
u might as well take a pic of the mcdonalds logo and spraypaint "capitalism is bad" across it and it would basically be the album art
| |
Lol as usual every other place I've been on has been saying the album art is great and you come to sputnik and BAM! negativity.
| |
ive seen no one not making fun of it
| |
Psycho sounds a bit like Supermassive so that's good. I am actually thinking this album could be decent

album is also featuring liner art by Banksy
| |
I want origin of symmetry part two, but probably won't get it
| |
Matt said they made a sequel to Citizen Erased so there's that.
| |
I'm scared about how optimistic I am for this album.
| |
hope this is better than that last garbage
| |
That album art lol
Get ready for even more hamfisted political lyrics
| |
maybe this will be good and i'll finally have a reason to listen to these guys. or not? we'll see
| |
i highly fucking doubt it
| |
Hahaha that album title and cover. Will be the worst album of the century
| |
considering that their little "preview" is just a rehashed riff that they've used in their live shows for like 10 years and are now slapping onto a new song, it's probably going to be shit
| |
Pretty stoked to hear the two new songs so soon
| |
cautiously optimistic. [2] the fact that they're saying this is a throwback and there's meant to be a Citizen Erased sequel makes me a little hopeful
| |
Pretty pumped for this. I'm just choosing to ignore everything they've done since 2009. As far as I'm concerned Black Holes was the last thing they did that actually mattered.
| |
Can't wait to hear it
| |
I'm not really digging this tbh
| |
Maybe you should actually listen to it before you decide whether you're digging it or not.
| |
lol
| |
I meant the sample of drones lol
| |
Oh fair enough haha
| |
Which track is gonna feature Sunn O)))
| |
teaser sounds pretty bland, but still better than almost all of 2nd law
| |
I'm very curious how they will manage the ''I kind of feel like it will be nice to reconnect and remind ourselves of just the basics of who we are'', because i'm not sure if they can succesfully go back to their earlier sound. Anyway, i'm still excited, and even if it's just glimpse of Absolution or Orgin, it should be atleast good
| |
Can't get worse than the 2nd law I guess.
| |
If this is another horrific pile of garbage I'm done with these guys.
| |
Unless things get too busy with my upcoming wedding, I'll be the one to review this. I am just about out of damn patience with these fuckers so they better step up their game.
| |
The 2nd Law was fun, never understood the extreme hate it got
| |
To me there was nothing fun about spending $13 to listen to them disgrace their legacy for a second straight album.
I mean it was still a 2.5, but jeez they really took to the twi-pop target fanbase and ran with that shit. I miss songs like Knights of Cydonia, Citizen Erased, Plug In Baby, etc.
| |
Agreed.
But fans are eating that shit up.
When they toured Pittsburgh for Absolution, they played Mr Smalls, a small converted church that filled maybe 300 people.
When they toured their last record, they sold at the Consol Energy Center where the Penguins played and had 50+ 18 wheelers to haul around their equipment to play in front of 10,000+ each night.
Sucks their music has gone down hill but try telling that to a band that are reaping the benefits of mediocrity by essentially becoming one of the the biggest rockstars in the world.
| |
Sounds like this will be more guitar based so that's something.
| |
Everything I've heard about it makes me more optimistic for this than the last two albums. Still, gonna wait until it's actually out to make up my mind.
At least this time I've got Spotify so I don't have to pay even if it's disgraceful
| |
I would care but I'm not 10 anymore
| |
Psycho is not so good, unfortunately
| |
Its like Uprising without synths. Kinda boring, but still better than what they released over the past two albums.
| |
Loved Psycho.
| |
I'm glad its not as butt rock as it sounded from that swing beat nickelback-sounding riff. Maybe it'll grow on me a bit
'your ass belongs to me' is cringey as fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk tho
I saw on facebook that they were pretty rushed for time on this song though, so maybe that's why the lyrics are so bad
| |
The riff is not like nickel back. -.- They have been playing it since God knows when after Hyper Music and SS live and it was quite exciting.
| |
those always felt more like RATM to me though
| |
me too. I loved all the feedback and harmonics and improvisations (and the faster beat, the better drums and the craziness) that this version lacks. such a pity
| |
It's a bit butt-rocky but at least they've gotten rid of those really wanky synths.
| |
Speed up by 6% percent on audacity and its amazing! ^.^
| |
The bridge with that sergeant abusing after the second chorus is kinda good
| |
OK, I've seen mention that this album will be political but Psycho just beats you over the fucking head with it. Absolutely no subtlety. Then again, have Muse ever been known for that?
Not a bad song at all, but definitely sounds too close to Uprising.
| |
When I get the album I'll definitely speed this song before importing it!
| |
Are you a psycho killer?!! AYE SIR!
AAAAAAH
(You are a pussy.....what comes after that?)
| |
Psycho's riff is awful...
| |
I used to love it when they played it after SS live. It was epic then.
| |
I mean the song itself is alright I guess
But I'm not really looking forward to this much
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wV9_je85DE
Around the 6:00 mark they play the psycho riff. Look how they made us mosh then! :/
| |
Good god these lyrics are awful.
| |
As per their recent form, they never were particularly good wordsmiths.
| |
I just read that there is a track titled [JFK]. like wtf as if we needed a song on that conspiracy
| |
JFK will probably be a sample of one of his speeches. I'm fairly sure that the tracks in brackets will be interludes.
| |
Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est
| |
Something like what linkin park did in a thousand suns?
| |
Psycho is incredibly dull. It's like an even duller Uprising. Dull dull dull.
| |
Guitar riff sounds very familiar to something that I can't quite put my finger on just yet.
| |
the outro riffs of SS over the past many years?
| |
My bud is crazy for them. He liked their experiments with new sounds but is devoted fan of their early work. I haven't asked him about his opinion on the new song, but he seemed to like the cover.
I'm not a fan, not even close, just yesterday I gave a try to Blackholes and Revelations and Origin of Symmetry. Not bad, not bad.
| |
Absolution , Oos and Blackholes are amazing albums. Which songs did you like the best?
| |
Everything up to Black Holes is fantastic, a sharp decline from there...
| |
only a few songs after Black holes made me hear them again, like MK Ultra, Unnatural selection, Supremacy and survival.
| |
SO WHO WANTS TO TELL THEM WE DON'T LIKE MUSE ANYMORE
NOSE GOES
*NOSE
| |
I feel the reason Muse was amazing in the good ole days was due to their energy, and simply stripping back to their roots won't lead to a good album again.
| |
New song is great, thank fuck
| |
I hope this is the worst song of the album. Jesus, what the hell are with the lyrics? It should be a better in my opinion. Still better than what they have done in past two albums.
| |
It's all right. I like the more rock approach. Disappointed the riff isn't really expounded on that much.
| |
Huge disappointment. It just sounds so hollow and predictable for a Muse song
| |
speed up the song and it becomes pure sex lol
| |
It's really not that bad, could be a lot worse. Still have no idea what tangent the new album will go off on, this is Muse after all...
| |
For those who hate the lyrics, I'm sure they will work better in the context of the album considering it looks like its gonna be politically charged.
| |
there are hints of classic muse in psycho but overall really bland song. terrible riff
| |
some faint optimism......
| |
The riff is so basic, I swear I've heard it before.
| |
The fuck the gema in germany blocked it before i could see it. Does someone have a nonyoutube link?
| |
It sounds better 1.25x sped up.
| |
it sounds way better sped up. I wonder why muse slowed it down from the faster live bpm in the first place :/
| |
this band is for gaylords
| |
Hopefully the album is enjoyable (which it most likely will be)
| |
My guess is that they are releasing the more "dull ones" (although I really liked the song), and they are saving the really epic ones for the album release.
| |
on a side note, this must be their most liberal use of four letter words
| |
I can't even play it loud at home to kinda appreciate it cause of that f-bomb. -_____-
| |
But I liked the silly experimental stuff...
| |
"Reapers" sounds a lot more promising
| |
