rules
|
| |
Really dig it, enjoyed that more than anything from their last two records. I suppose Ive always liked the more melodic side of the band.
Opening riff is a bit of a red herring.
|
| |
Good shit, that artwork is bitchin too.
|
| |
Sylosis rules - pleb
|
| |
I've traditionally really disliked this band, but I'll give props where they're due. Song ruled. Sylosis covered a lot of different styles and eras of metal here and made it work.
|
| |
@climactic For sure.
The hate they get on here is bullshit tbh.
|
| |
i've never listened them before, but this song is great, i guess i gonna start with their new album..
|
| |
lol that thrashy trem section was so weak
vocals are slightly less heafy than before so props to him
|
| |
Wow that was really good
|
| |
is there no standard anymore? buncha fruits
|
| |
lol Sylosis
|
| |
this is pretty bad
|
| |
Definitely building off of their sound on Monolith. Great track
|
| |
I CAN DIG IT
|
| |
best song ive heard from them so far
|
| |
ins approved
|
| |
pretty good, these guys seem to bang out albums pretty fast
|
| |
actually maybe not, last one was in 2012 feels like it was last year
|
| |
Really dope
|
| |
Long live the thrash!
|
| |
this is better than anything from monolith
this might even be a 2.5
|
| |
Thrash livvvs!
|
| |
worst band in the universe
|
| |
song is the bomb
|
| |
Song is great. Haters need to get over it.
|
| |
wicked. I loved Conclusion but was lukewarm on their others
|
| |
Song is badass. While scum is derping I'm headbanging with the kings and emperors of modern fauz thrash cuz they rule hard. Still, conclusion of the age is better, conclusion is liek 5 dis or derp
|
| |
Damn this is really good. Vocals sound fantastic.
|
| |
how is this band labelled thrash metal lol and yea as kill said that trem riff is so boring
|
| |
Yay... Sylosis! Boo... KILL!
|
| |
better than anything off Monolith. im looking forward to this. that album title sucks though.
|
| |
breaking news: any discussion of the plentiful flaws of a given group can be terminated immediately by labeling the person making the claims as a hater
|
| |
That would require that the band have flaws in the first place though.
|
| |
i find "this band gets boring after three minutes and has tries to write songs that last for like 7 fucking minutes" a pretty significant flaw
|
| |
Fair enough! Personally, some of my favorite tracks of theirs are longer but I understand your criticism. This band love to write
and their albums tend to be extremely long because of that fact.
_____
Sylosis' style has evolved so much since their debut. Their influences really shine through here and the writing approach seems
extremely creative as a result.
|
| |
I can see what they're going for, it's just that they don't really seem to go for much else. They're almost ambitious to a fault: they want to write sprawling epics but aren't quite able to make it varied enough to retain interest at an inflated rate, so it starts to make a whole "let's move on" feeling eventually. They can be okay for maybe a track at a time, but there seems to be a fair bit of missed potential here. If they shortened the songs a bit and had a bit more variety, I might be able to get behind them.
|
| |
Rules [2]
|
| |
Lloyd sucking KILL's dick lol, no surprises there.
|
| |
to be fair that is a pretty boring riff
|
| |
It's not amazing but if a well respected thrash band did it they wouldn't be slated half as much.
|
| |
yet another totally rational statement from the guy who 5'd hybrid theory
|
| |
Loololololololololol, butthurt bitches in 3,2,1............................................................
|
| |
Wow. That was pretty awesome. I've got to back catalog these guys.
|
| |
Dig it
|
| |
nah seriously pleb dude its a really boring riff its like one note not very interesting
|
| |
Loved the riff at the end, but the rest was just 'alright'. Nowt offensively bad, just not much overly exciting either.
|
| |

|
| |
Did I 5 Hybrid Theory?
|
| |
probably
|
| |
Is this really thrash metal bc I thought I only heard like 20 sec of thrash in the middle of it. The first half seemed entirely bro core type bullshit to me.
|
| |
Who gives a fuck, just like the song or don't
|
| |
well we have to know because METAL is good but CORE sucks
|
| |
I do bc I'm not really good at distinguishing metal or core genres.
|
| |
Song is very solid, I have great expectations for Dormant Heart.
Also, the band has often clarified that they're not trying to be thrash or anything. Who gives a damn anyways if they're thrash, prog, metalcore, melodeath, or country.
|
| |
trolls, trolls everywhere.
|
| |
the original comment that i replied to about the 5ing hybrid theory is deleted, was something about anybody who doesnt love this rapes babies or whatever
parabellum said it and he has 5d hybrid theory
|
| |
Xar, your just getting thrown off by the layered screams and cleans. This is primarily thrash and melodic metal.
|
| |
The song is very good. I think they get hate because the vocals sound too core. It's a valid criticism but I don't mind too much.
|
| |
nope, they get hate because they're generic as fuck and make songs that are WAY too long
|
| |
@xar how the fuck did you get bro core out of this. i know they have kind of a metalcore influence, but calling it brocore is just dumb.
|
| |
theres no thrash in this song except for that one shitty riff
i dont know their other songs and if any of them are thrashy but this definitely isnt thrash
|
| |
@tempest - I've been listening to this band for a while and their bread and butter is definitely thrash metal. Their 2011 release, Edge of the Earth, is full of amazing riffage. I still hear that as their primary sound but there are a lot of other influences to their music now. I don't understand why you're so focused on labeling them as something. Music doesn't exist to be one thing.
@Twister - I skimmed through your ratings and with the exception of Vektor, it looks like your trash taste is stuck in the past. Sylosis is still based on 80s thrash but bring a ton of obvious differences to the table. Hell, a lot of people in this thread are complaining that this band aren't thrash yet you call this band "generic"? Where is the logic in that?
|
| |
im not the one focusing on labelling them im focusing on what theyre labelled as
if a band is called thrash metal everywhere im going to listen to them expecting thrash metal not melodic metalcore cos thrash rules and metalcore sucks dick
|
| |
lol this tempest guy is heated
|
| |
not even in the slightest
|
| |
Sylosis are finally able to break free their upcoming album, Dormant Fart.
|
| |
fuck off Mercy you fucking suck
|
| |
whether you think they should be labeled thrash or not, its obviously a big part of their sound.
@twister how are they generic? what bands actually sound like Sylosis? they might not be breaking new ground but i think they have a distinct sound of their own.
|
| |
If you think this band are metalcore, you need to listen harder.
|
| |
Song was alright, but nothing to masturbate to.
"this band gets boring after three minutes and has tries to write songs that last for like 7 fucking minutes" - well bro, this is like 90% of all thrash bands you're talking about
And no, this isn't metalcore.
|
| |
Still sucks.
|
| |
THEY.ARE.NOT.METALCORE. Josh Middleton hates metalcore.
|
| |
The band's roots lie in metalcore but they have pretty much abandoned them since Monolith
it would be fairer to classify them as a thrash/melodeath collective with slight progressive tendencies
|
| |
I'm actually digging this. Was not expecting that.
|
| |
@tyrael the fuck are you talking about, the other two were just as thrashy. and their roots are obviously not in metalcore, have you even heard a thrash album before?
|
| |
anything sylosis can do battlecross can do better
battlecross can do anything better than sylosis
|
| |
"Josh Middleton hates metalcore."
That must be why he's got those stylish gauges, innit?
|
| |
someguest with the zinger
|
| |
lol these comments
|
| |
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/images/members/474208.jpg
|
| |
I've seen an interview which the band
specifically stated that they were not into
metalcore. The reason why they got rid of their
first vocalist was to move away from that
stigma.
@Twister, why are you even comparing
Battlecross to this band? Battlecross don't
even attempt half the shit Sylosis do. I'm not
saying Battlecross are bad band, I'm saying
stylistically Battlecross are less versatile
and thus, not even remotely compatible in the
manner you mentioned.
Also, the fact that you condem Sylosis for
being generic yet praise Battlecross in your
next post, is so incredibly ironic.
|
| |
Worst thread of all time tbh.
|
| |
Quite appropriate for Sylosis then.
|
| |
Seeing as though they rule, that would be false.
|
| |
tehe, good one.
|
| |
Listened to the full song and smiled.
Listened to it again so I could smile more.
|
| |
I'm already ill today so not gonna listen.
|
| |
Will make you better dude, rules.
|
| |
honestly id rather listen to world needs a hero than this band
|
| |
Return to Hangar m/
|
| |
"The reason why they got rid of their first vocalist was to move away from that
stigma. "
yeah, and their guitarist-promoted-to-vocalist Josh wears gauges and an emo haircut in order to further distance the band from that stigma
|
| |
Dude are you for real? Are you still complaining about haircuts in 2014?
|
| |
guys there's like two guys that are even saying Sylosis are good
seriously though they're like if Battlecross wasn't fun
|
| |
Well, fans of thrash metal are usually repulsed by sissiness and like to underline their masculinity, so Josh's fashion statement is not very thrashy
|
| |
The most unmetal thing to do is care about what someone looks like. Remember when people actually LISTENED to music?
|
| |
This site is full of a bunch of self righteous assholes.Great band, Good Song.
|
| |
I'm not saying I care, I'm just pointing something out
and this band ain't metalcore
song's ok but not amazing
|
| |
