The Helix Nebula release new track

Australian instrumental progressive metal band The Helix Nebula have released the first track, 'Sea of Suns', from their debut EP Meridian, which is scheduled for an August 29th release date.

The band have been posting demos since 2011, but this is their first proper song release.

Meh. Wasn't bad but sounds like every other djent band these days, just with a bit more flair. I'll give credit were it's due though: 3:06 - 3:19 was pretty cool.

i dunno, man. the sense of melody here is largely unparalleled, especially for the tempo at which it's all played. though the transitions are a bit abrupt, the bass is audible and well-utilized and the song as a whole is well-written and superbly executed. i'm stoked to hear the EP in its entirety.
