Just caught this news earlier.
Quite excited. The selection of name was rather cool. I can dig it.

The youtube link doesn't bring me to the page, but still great news.
The little snippets in the video are very promising.

I want to like this because The Wonder Years are great, but the other part of me is saying "wow, Soupy writing sad songs? What a change of pace."

Can't say I'm surprised. I've Been waiting for this announcement since The Upsides. Guessing Dan burnt out ideas writing about the shittiest years of his own life, so now we get to hear about this morose made-up motherfucker named Aaron. Excited.

Didn't really see this one coming. Dan talked about learning to play guitar and replicating his idols (The Weakerthans, The Mountain Goats) but I thought he was just gonna dish out solo acoustic Wonder Years sets or write a ton of "Madelyn"/"Hey Thanks"/"I've Given You All"-type Wonder Years tracks or b-sides.
