Carnifex sign to Nuclear Blast

2013-07-09 by SIMBOLIC | 28 Comments
Californian extreme metal band Carnifex have announced a return from their year-long hiatus. Accompanying this is news that they have signed to the famous metal label Nuclear Blast instead of re-signing with Victory Records.

"Signing with Nuclear Blast is a career defining moment for CARNIFEX,” commented frontman Scott Lewis.

Lewis also went on to make rather audacious claims about Carnifex's future material:

"Together with Nuclear Blast you will see CARNIFEX like you have never seen us before. Prepare yourself for an album that crushes any and all expectations. An album that will stand as the definitive mark for modern metal.”

An incredibly high claim considering the band's unremarkable discography, yet perhaps the hiatus has renewed their energy and vigor allowing them to continue to build upon the progression (and scrap the regression) displayed in their 2011 offering "Until I Feel Nothing".

Their last album, while a massive improvement, was still rather unremarkable imo. It will still be interesting to see where they go from here though.

I hate when people do that...

Anyways, should be interesting. These guys are alright...nothing too spectacular but also not horrible.

I really loved their last album; definitely curious to see how this new one will stack up. Hopefully they continue to expand upon that blackened death metal they were playing on Until I Feel Nothing

These guys could write a genuinely great record if they scrap the generic tendencies. They have some really good songs and really shit ones as well.

Hopefully they grow up

So the news item of the same title I previously posted, got taken down in favour of one which features OBJECTIVE remarks like: "An incredibly high claim considering the band's unremarkable discography, yet perhaps the hiatus has renewed their energy and vigor allowing them to continue to build upon the progression (and scrap the regression) displayed in their 2011 offering "Until I Feel Nothing".

Lol sputnik sweetheart I saw your news post, it was laughable.

And I was being objective, I dont understand how it isnt. I'm a fan of this band and my comments weren't particularly favorable towards them. Every informed metal fan will admit that Carnifex's discography is unremarkable regardless of fandom.

Also I placed those comments at the very end of the news article after the news itself. Your article didnt even have a link to the source material n00b

So putting unneeded, subjective remarks makes a news article more valuable. Makes perfect sense. You know what? you're right! Good luck on your journalistic future
