More bony knees if anyone was wondering.
Big fan of the band, but not sure what I feel about the new EP yet...
| |
band is so gooood
| |
Had a feeling this news article would be from Mr. Robinson's neighborhood
| |
Sweet.
| |
Band's good, but I don't think they could fit one more inch of The Wonder Years dick down their throat.
| |
Really disappointed by what I've heard from this so far unfortunately, not nearly as good as Everyone That Dragged You Here
| |
am i the only one who thinks that these guys lean a lot more towards the 90s skate punk sound rather than the wonder years?
| |
i've heard one song and they reused the lyrics bony knees and sleepy eyes and my ears started bleeding
| |
oh my god. they say bony knees in at least 2 new songs. band is on a quick downward spiral. it sounded dumb in floorboards, now its just making me cringe. stop writing the same lyrics.
| |
hell yeah
| |
why do people always claim popular pop punk bands these days are just ripping off the wonder years? most of these new wave of bands sound similar enough to each other, but not the wonder years, who have one of the more unique sounds out there right now
| |
cool. everyone that dragged you here was great
| |
as much as I like this band
they mustache ride The Wonder Years hard
| |
The whole "sleepy eyes and boney knees club" thing got old pretty fucking quickly.
| |
except the new ep is actually pretty bad
| |
not quite
| |
probably gonna end up reviewing this, but what i find here is that musicianship-wise it's a shitty version of Everyone That Dragged You Here, without any of the interesting parts, and vocal-wise they cherry-picked the "bony knees" and "you suck" without actually coming up with any new words whatsoever
| |
damn sucks to hear it's not as good but to be honest real friends aren't as good as a lot of other pop punk bands anyways. I'd even take fireworks over them any day.
| |
always have a special place for everyone that dragged you here, though, since it's really really good
| |
agreed. I had to jam it last night
| |
"why do people always claim popular pop punk bands these days are just ripping off the wonder years? most of these new wave of bands sound similar enough to each other, but not the wonder years, who have one of the more unique sounds out there right now"
Sometimes people make that argument with no backup, but with Real Friends, it pretty damn obvious. The whole recurring lyrics theme, the way the vocalist sings at times, and the way he goes about the subject matter in their songs lyrically is pretty similar to the good ol' years.
| |
You make it seem like fireworks are a bad pop punk band.
| |
nah they rule lol. also this isn't bad but i agree that everything that dragged you here is better
| |
i'll give you that the lyrics are at times thematically and dictionally similar to the wonder years. but musically, not even close.
| |
lol why the fuck is every pop punk band in existence being compared to either the wonder years or the menzingers?
| |
"i'll give you that the lyrics are at times thematically and dictionally similar to the wonder years. but musically, not even close."
Ya, but musically, most pop punk bands sound similar.
| |
musically, all bands within a common genre are going to sound similar to some degree. that argument doesn't work.
@atari, exactly my point. makes no sense.
| |
"musically, all bands within a common genre are going to sound similar to some degree. that argument doesn't work."
I agree. It wasn't really an argument, just a statement.
| |
gotcha. well in reference to my original post, as far as within the genre goes, musically, real friends and twy aren't really that similar.
| |
Let us shake hands
| |
accepted. you are an honorable man, good sir.
| |
I like it but I'm sick of hearing about his goddamn bony knees
