Former Cog members re-emerge

2013-04-24 by Mojito | 10 Comments
Luke and Flynn Gower formally of rock band 'Cog' have re-emerged under the name of 'The Occupants' and have released a new track entitled 'I've Been Thinking'. The brothers are uncertain as to the future of the project stating:

“We’re not really sure where the project will lead. We’re definitely in a completely different situation to say four or five years ago and that’s reflected in the music. If we push it forward and continue to give it our attention then we’re hoping it will develop in a living, meaningful way. We’ll continue to create with the simple aim of keeping the quality of the music as high as possible and work towards an album one song at a time.”

This makes me miss Cog even more. Not because it's amazing, like Cog. But because it's not...

Interesting use of Flynn's vocals, all echoey and shit. I actually kinda liked this, but I mean Cog was just more exciting a band in general.

Really cool. Sounds like a progression of Cog to me.

I doubt if anything the members do will reach Cog at their best. Still got high hopes for this though.

Not bad, but I don't think it showed off a lot.

On first listen (mp3), it didn't do much for me. However, hearing it through good headphones, it became obvious the mix is superb. Everything sits where it should, its simple and lush. Excited to hear more from these guys.
