Not technically new since they played it live recently, but still news worthy.
I had a feeling I'd like this track more recorded than live. Did not disappoint.

kewl

It started off well, I just don't really like his voice all that much. Which is weird, considering I love TCV.
| |
Excuse me while I ejaculate
| |
yes this song rules
| |
song rules.
| |
I think I just ascended to a new temporal plane.
| |
aweeesome
| |
hell yeah this is killer
| |
Song doesn't do a whole lot for me. Still holding out hope that the album will be awesome though.
| |
Ugh, this is boring.
| |
Holy shit, you listen to like the first 20 seconds and you just know it's QOTSA.
Great song, but it's in their comfort zone for sure.
| |
Youre boring
| |
Unless you dislike QOTSA I can't see how you could call this boring...Do you want them to release a god damn Hip Hop single?
| |
This is an average rock song. None of the style or guts of their first three albums.
| |
I don't think they'll ever come close to what they did on the first 3 albums, but I'm hoping this one is at least better than the last two. this song reminds me of something off of Lullabies to Paralyze.
| |
This was pretty cool.
| |
Great song. Hoping this is better than Era Vulgaris.
| |
3.5
| |
"Hoping this is better than Era Vulgaris."
It will be. I'm glad they made EV though because they stepped outside the normal formula and some of us didn't loathe it. Now, a return to form.
| |
It feels slower or less powerful than the live version. Hurm. Still fucking awesome though. Love me some Queens
| |
"This is an average rock song. None of the style or guts of their first three albums."
Agreed. While I thought this was a 'good' song, I wasn't all that amazed by it. I was hoping for something with an instant hold like "A Songs for the Deaf" or "Regular John", I'm remaining optimistic that the the album will deliver though.
| |
Yeah if anyone else had made era vulgaris it would be considered a classic.
| |
lol
| |
@WhiteNoise
It had some decent songs, but overall weak as a whole. At least, that's just me.
| |
its sexy. riffs. anal adolescence.
| |
idk era vulgaris was solid because of the crusty defiance in every song imo
| |
i think it sounds great! very lullabies to paralyze.
| |
There's also a track listing here: http://www.matadorrecords.com/matablog/2013/04/08/queens-of-the-stone-age-my-god-is-the-sun-and-like-clockwork-details/

| |
Cool song.
| |
Pretty underwhelming. I didn't like their last two and Lullabies to Paralyze was only okay. I don't know why I expected more.
| |
Lullabies was a fucking classic man.
| |
this will rule. Casablancas was on the last record, Arctic Monkey's singer on this one.
| |
Pretty cool. Nothing special though.
| |
I'll postpone my judgment until I hear sir Elton John's voice.
| |
Why do you assume he's singing? He might be on the keys, yo.
| |
better live. still good.
| |
Good shit.
| |
Yeah in retrospect the live performance of this was slightly more killer. I'm down though, I just wish it was like.... 10 bpm faster or something, like the live version. Same difference between Era Vulgaris studio stuff versus EV songs live.
| |
Aww, only 10 songs...
| |
i love the guitar riff that goes throughout
| |
Surprised at how much love this is getting. I thought it was awful, very mediocre and mundane...Hoping for more...
| |
I can't stop listening to this song. I've listened to it like 100 times since I first heard it
| |
I really dig it.
| |
Song rocks hard, much more upbeat vibe compared to EV.
| |
awesome
| |
"My God Is The Sun" is a fantastic single. Very well produced. Love the way the drums and bass sound. If the rest of the album has the same quality we are looking forward to a future classic.
Am i the only one looking forward to listening to Mark Lanegan's voice on a QOTSA song again?
| |
^ shut the fuck up

ye stfu fag
