Doesn't grab me as much as Welcome Home Armageddon but it's still awesome

^What he said

Edit: It's very melodic. This may appeal to people who are general fans of post-hardcore more than their previous few releases, and already existing fans are going to be satisfied as well, but it doesn't do much to add to their sound. Overall, it's pretty hella enjoyable. Will probably be a 3.5 for me

Anyone else concerned about the ridiculously short song lengths? I swear the average song is only 2 1/2 minutes.

@thief, yeah they look to be fast paced with no sign of slowing down, tbh i was hoping they would make more songs like the title track off their last album, that was a fantastic song.

WHA is my favorite by them, followed closely by Hours.

The songs they released individually were both under 3 minutes weren't they? That might be a bad sign...

@schoonda, I completely agree. Short songs are a sign of a very straightforward album.. Even though everyone loves to hate on Tales, one thing that album did well was contain songs with intricate and interesting structure. They did well with that too back in CDADIC.

@Ecnalzen, if you check out the itunes pre-order, only like 3 songs are over 3 minutes.... I swear, this album is going to be shorter than most EPs...

@THIEF, you're not wrong there. the songs to me, while decent, sound quite samey, they aren't bad, but i do miss the change of pace, and ryan's screaming vocals casually dressed is one of my favourites, i prefer matt's voice on that too..

So true. Oh well, Old Hymns was one of my favorite off of WHA, maybe they will all have that same charm..

That sucks. Didn't know Itunes had the track lengths up. At this point, I am pretty much a faithful follower of the band so I will probably pick it up regardless, lol. If the album is a little disappointing, hopefully it will at least be a step in the right direction for the next release.

People can rag on Tales, but it was great for what it was: an alternative/rock album. Plus, The Diary frickin rocks.

Agreed, Tales, in retrospect, was a fantastic album that suffered because they released it as FFAF, which created bias.

Also, check the full version of their song Nails!! So stinking good!
