Sakis Tolis about Mustaine 2007-02-04 by Stoic | 9 Comments | Back in 2005, Mustaine threatened to cancel Megadeth's show in Greece if Rotting Christ was the support band, because he felt offended by the band's satanic image. Now, According Blabblermouth, Decibel Magazine reports that Rotting Christ's leader, Sakis Tolis "feels sorry" about Mustaine:
"I didn't expect something like that from Dave Mustaine, because, you know, he's supposed to be metal — you know, 'metal band,' all metal," said Tolis. "I just feel sorry for him and for every new Christian with new ideas, because we think Christianity is the worst thing to happen in human history. This is a well-organized trick in order to control society, so when I see someone that's very much Christian, that's full of the system, I feel very sorry for him because he's not free. And of course, if you are a Christian who believes somewhere, I don't care. It's up to you to believe anywhere you want, but if you want to push your opinion to the others, then I have to feel sorry about you."

I dislike both parties in question (personality-wise, that is)
| | | I'm hardcore christian. So that must mean I'm not metal...
| | | They must be desparate for some publicity.
| | | Yeah pulling it from 2005. Who gives an arse anyway? He can just consider himself yet an other person on the list of people that Dave Mustaine has started feuds with.
And over religion anyway for christs sake. Religious or not, music is music and another persons views are just that. That being said, have not heard any of "Rotting Christs" music and probably wont.
| | | I don't think it's a publicity matter. Probably the guy from Rotting Christ just replied a question concerning that matter and you know how the media is. Still, the problem isn't Mustaine's religious beliefs but the fact he forced another band to cancel their show because they weren't pure enough in his eyes. This Message Edited On 02.05.07
| | | It's probably not that. I'd say Mustaine would feel embarrased to put himself on a stage with a band with beliefs he just doesnt want to affiliate himself with. when was this anyway?
| | | Yeah and also it isnt very metal of Sakis Tolis actin like a baby crying about Mustaine.
| | | I agree with Rotting Christ! But I understand they are both aloud to have their own opinions on life.
| | | Yeah, I'm Christian too, and nothing usually really bothers me about bands who are against Christianity...but when you're replying 2 YEARS later, then that's just gay and makes it seem like you want a fight. To hell with you Mr. Tolis.
