While I'm not really blown away, it's a solid tune.

I havent listened to these guys in a while. The song was pretty solid, when is the album coming out?
|
| |
I guess in March.
|
| |
The last one had about one good song on it, so I'm stoked for a change back to their previous sound.
|
| |
last album sucked somethin' fierce...so hopefully, as a whole, the next one is better.

It's weird, this band released three incredible albums in a four year span, then one mediocre album two years later, now after a four year period I don't know how to feel. The song is OK, nothing at the quality of Blast Tyrant, Robot Hive, or Beale Street, but Clutch at their worst is still better than much else.
|
| |
Going back to their roots is a good thing, the last album felt kinda "light" for me.
|
| |
I actually prefer their last album to Beale Street, it was more stellar imo. But, I agree going back to their roots is probably what most fans were waiting for.
|
| |
stoked for the new album. last one wasn't awful, but it was definitely a bit too light for me.
this song is nice to hear after so many years since blast tyrant or robot hive

They need to start rocking that s/t and "Transnational Speedway League" shit again, and then I'll be happy. I like everything they've ever done, but those first two remind me of my teenage years so hard. Seeing them live at 16 for "Elephant Riders" made me a lifelong fan.
|
| |
I saw them in Columbus the 29th and the show was absolutely amazing. Nice to see Clutch have some more balls to their sound again. I was worried how their live sound would be since Full Fathom Five was really weak and hollow imo. Robot Hive/Exodus was the last time they really did something kickass and after hearing 2 songs of Earth Rocker live, I have high hopes.
|
| |
Clutch has always been a good band for me. Wouldn't necessarily say I'm "Stoked" for this, but it's always good to have more great bands putting out great stuff.
|
| |
Stoked was the wrong word. Curious would be more accurate.
|
| |
"But, I agree going back to their roots is probably what most fans were waiting for."
Agreed. Seriously, give me an album that just slightly smells of Blast Tyrant or Robot Hive and I'll be all over it. Those two are stellar records with an eternal riffing m/ in my heart.

I personally wouldn't mind if they released a double album. One disc - ferocious hard rock tracks, the other disc - blues jams akin to the one posted last year.
|
| |
I'm more partial to their more aggressive earlier stuff (s/t, PRF) but I'm excited for anything new from them.
|
| |
They can also strike a good balance showcased as they showcased on earlier albums. The Regulator is one of my favorte less 'rocking' tracks done by any modern rockband ever.
