Starfucker Announces New Album

Starfucker (or STRFKR) have announced the release date for their new album--the follow-up to
2011's Reptilians--according to Billboard. The Portland band has set a date of Feb.
19th, 2013, and have also released the first song "When I'm Alive", which you can check out

Yep, the song they released from it is really good. "Reptilians" was one of my favorite albums of 2011, so I'm really excited for this.

Maybe it's "star" as in "famous person," not "giant celestial ball of gas and fire." Since they're from Portland, that almost certainly means they're hipsters trying to be ironic, so I'd guess the former option. The latter would make more sense if they were a badass space-prog band who wrote nine-minute songs in 13/4 time.

Yup, I've read in an interview that with "star" they are referring to "famous person". One of the founders got fed up with
the current music industry after hearing a woman bragging about how many stars she had fucked. He then decided it
might be a fun name for the band, and wanted to see how far the would make it with such a name.

Really hyped for the new record, btw. Starfucker is one of my favorite (electronic) bands, they have this happy and
danceable, yet very calming sound, which I really adore.
