New album this summer or fall?

2006-02-22 by Alex101 | 11 Comments
Yesterday, it was announced that The Offspring had already been back in the studio recording and now have found a producer that will help record their long-awaited eighth studio album that will be the follow-up to 2003's "Splinter".

There were previously some rumors that say The Offspring's new drummer Adam "Atom" Willard has left the band to pursue his career with a new project Angels and Airwaves (formed by blink-182's Tom DeLonge). Frontman Dexter Holland, Adam "Atom" Willard or any member has denied this report and said that Adam "Atom" Willard will still be in the band for the time being.

And back to where we left off, The Offspring's new album is set for release sometime in summer or fall of 2006. Yet, the title and release date is to be confirmed. Some fans have been waiting for a long time for a new Offspring album since like late 2004 (or something).

Adam did join Angels and Airwave, he seems to be pretty heavy into that so he may well be replaced.

I grew out of The Offspring ages ago but they still do good.

I'll probably download it to see what it's like when it comes out.

Hopefully this will be better than Splinter. They need a new angle and they need one now.

I agree with Lexluthor, Splinter didn't really hold many good songs (only a couple of songs were good) They make some music that's completley different from what they've done, but not stray too far away.

It wasnt that Splinter was a bad album. But it was one of their worst. Splinter's problem was it didnt have the quality songs as Ixnay or Smash. Plus it was really short. I've been an Offspring fan before I knew what music to listen to, and if they came out with a gospel album, I'll buy it.

The main problem with Splinter was that it was just too short, I think anyway.

When the new album comes out, I will buy it. I hope to see at least 14 songs and no more shorter songs such as can't get my head around you.
