Could be good or a massive failure.
| |
Fuck yes.
| |
We shall see...
| |
Who cares? What's John up to?
| |
Hopefully it'll be good.
| |
claimed!
will hate it tho
| |
Awesome. I'll be looking forward to this.
| |
Looking forward to hearing the new guitarist
| |
Should be interesting at the very least. Hopefully Rick Rubin doesn't pull his usual trick of over-compressing the fuck out of the record so it sounds like muddled ass.
| |
We'll see, but I"m happy Sputnik is at least inerested in this.
| |
wont be as good as the Frusciante days but should still be worth checking out
| |
band had a good album in 91
that's about it
| |
You lost.
| |
brb guys gonna listen to kse and pretend to drum on the internet
| |
Never cared for these guys
| |
gonna be nostalgia like fuck
| |
it will pretty good. not great
| |
If it's super melodic like By the Way and a lot of Stadium Arcadium then I'll love this. Want to hear it either way
| |
It really seems as if all of the melodic talent came from Frusciante.
| |
3-3.5
| |
No one can replace frusch, but im sure itll be decent.
| |
KILL COYOTES
| |
Rick Rubin has lost his touch so Im not looking forward to this.
| |
um cool rhcp not interested kthnxbai
| |
I swear Chad Smith is Will Ferrell.
| |
Wrong, Will Ferrell is Chad Smith bro.
| |
o man
| |
PLEASE BE GOOD.
| |
Last time they got a geetar playuhr who wasn't John it didn't work out so well (even though it was the awesome Dave Navarro) but I'll keep an open mind still
| |
Yay
| |
not optimistic unfortunately. i hope i'm proven otherwise.
| |
Guys I fuckin' hated Stadium Arcadium and I have no idea why. Hopefully it wont have that same stigma.
Pass that goddamn moonshine over.
| |
Should be good.
| |
My favorite album by these guys is actually 'By The Way', but only liked a few songs from 'Stadium Arcadium', so we'll have to see how this turns out. With John Frusciante gone, I'm not holding out hope that it will be better than anything they've done post-'Californication'.
| |
And anyways, WTF is RHCP without johnny? Stupid move on both parts. His solo records are okay, but constantly lacking the cohesion that is RHCP.
| |
You high?
| |
fuck waiting
| |

John has been better solo than the band since By the Way. I am very curious to hear what they'll make of this, if Stadium Arcadium proved anything it was that they needed a breath of fresh air.
| |
Nags got it right. Shadows Collide and The Empyrean are gems compared to Stadium Arcadium.
| |
I hope this album is good too. They are a band who seems to get better instead of worse. By the Way and Californication are definitely their best albums.
| |
*Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Californication are definitely their best albums.
| |
I'm really eager to see what Klinghoffer has to offer. Frusciante was undoubtably their very best guitarist, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is a drop from "Stadium Arcadium", but let's cross our fingers that these guys can pull it off another great album!
| |
maybe this will bring mike patton back into the spotlight
| |
this is going to get a lot of airplay
| |
I'm excited to hear this. Might be good.
| |
I'll never understand all the ridiculous amounts of hate that Stadium Arcadium gets. Fantastic album.
| |
Yeah Stadium Arcadium was great and hopefully this will be too
| |
how can anyone expect this to sound anything at all like vintage frusciante chili peppers?
| |
Stadium Arcadium had a few shitty songs but I did enjoy it quite a bit.
| |
sweet. a soothing, inoffensive album to fall asleep to right around my birthday.
| |
4/5
| |
stoked
| |
"And anyways, WTF is RHCP without johnny? Stupid move on both parts. His solo records are okay, but constantly lacking the cohesion that is RHCP."
I think I died a bit inside. album will be amazing. Josh basically is John and I'm pretty sure John actually gave him some of his guitars as his approval. I also believe in a few years time John will be back...
| |
As mixed as the opinions are, new album will at least be mediocre.
In other news, John Frusciante announces plans to form supergroup with Mike Portnoy, it will be called Chicken Dick.
| |
ay ayon amscray
| |
"Could be good or a massive failure."
no failure could ever be as massive as Josh D's persona on this website
...although his attempted wit comes very close to out-patheticing he himself
| |
wut^
| |
Thrilled Josh joined RHCP, as it paved the way for Stella Mozgawa to take over drums with Warpaint.
Still John was always the best thing going for RHCP. He's irreplaceable (nothing against Josh, who I like).
| |
This is likely going to suck. It's been proven time and again that without Frusciante's hooks and songwriting they're nothing special. Whoever said that Klinghoffer is "basically John himself" is doing it wrong on every level... being able to play Under The Bridge note-for-note is great, but he doesn't have the cred/talent/x-factor that Frusciante does when it comes to songwriting.
Stadium Arcadium wasn't that great... typically bloated/inconsistent/overdone double album syndrome with a couple of great singles, pretty much
| |
Oooo Rick Rubin. Should be good!
| |
I'm excited. even though i havened really listened to them for a while now. I'm pretty sure it will sound very different which could actually be a good thing i think
| |

I sort of meant that they have been friends of ages and Josh has played on almost all of Johns albums and has a similar if not almost identical creative mindset.
Johns next solo album will still be better than this though :P
| |
Eh, I liked One Hot Minute so I have hope.
| |
COME ON BABY DO ME NOW, DO ME NOW I DO ALLLOOOOWWWWW
| |
It'll probably be at least listenable, but I don't know if I am comfy with Flea, Chad and that overrated hack Kiedis carrying an album by themselves
| |
Rick Rubin hasn't produced a good album since the Mars Volta's Deloused, imo. He used to be automatic greatness for anything he touched, but now he's kind of a kiss of death.
| |
fuck rick rubin, even deloused had shitty production.
| |
I'm interested to hear how this sounds since Fruciante won't be on it.
| |
not a fan of RHCP. never was, probably never will be.
| |
If its like their old stuff, itll be great.
| |
i dunno. i just dont feel that interested.
| |
either going to be shitty or epic. but I'm excited because I love RHCP. I wonder if rubin's production will be the shitfest it was on SA
| |
RHcP are the reason I'm on this site- my first introduction to music in 5th grade.
I don't listen to them quite as much anymore, but I still have mad respect for them for what they've done.
In terms of Josh being in the picture, I see it as something good. I liked Stadium Arcadium! However, I was afraid that with John they would get into a musical rut, because I was starting to see that. Now they have a clean slate with a man that also has a lot of experience with melody, and it's exciting for me to be able to see a band that brings me a ton of nostalgia potentially grow into something even greater.
However, it might not be so great. I don't know; I liked One Hot Minute very much, so we'll just have to see what the future brings.
| |
"I'll never understand all the ridiculous amounts of hate that Stadium Arcadium gets. Fantastic album."
It's cool to hate.
| |
I guess well see how much John actually influenced their sound.
| |
john who
you mean foxxxy
