Sounds alright. Kind of generic Helmet but that's what he's been doing for the last few albums and I still kind of dig it. His voice will probably continue to put a lot of people off

Count-Strap it on for sure and i am partial to Aftertaste too. Guess they never really had a steady lineup, but things went downhill post-Aftertaste when Mr. Hamilton threw some new guys together and went back on the road.

Helmet is all about the guitar riffs.

His vocals were always take or leave it but made the band who they were. Had no idea he took lessons, but yeah they definitely didn't help.

Yeah, 30 second clips...but considering they're the first clips from the album posted ANYWHERE, that's as good as you're going to get right now. Album isn't going to be released until September.

i think helmet is still good, his voice has certainly improved since monochrome and the riffs sound like they were pulled right off of betty

The album's preview sounds good by the way. I have a soft spot for these guys.

The poppier moments sound kind of awkward but yeah, it should be a decent album

The poppier moments are still nothing new for the band. I kind of enjoy them if done right and not awkwardly placed into a song.

oh.....yeah pages voice has changed majorly(billy corgan imitation) but the riffs are still their. i think page should let other band members contribute ideas instead of just page writing all of the the music

he needs to get john stanier back, helmet sucks live now though. saw em in 06. ugh page does not have a good live voice. he improvs all of his solos though

last superpower aka rapscallion was awesome. pilchers squad reminded of old primus and marys little ice cube had a hypnotic drone to it. the other tracks weren't special.

tales is too jambandy frizzle fry has good drum production but it buries the guitars. sailing the seas of cheese for me has better songwriting and production. larry needs to play the banjo more. pork soda is a great banjo riff
