Yeah... A7X hasn't been too great in years. I like a few tracks here and there off of their newest album, but in terms of consistency, this band is almost as bad as Ozzy's recent solo material.

Avenged Sevenfold is just fucking terrible, no matter how you try and spin it.

Every time I hear a song by this band, the only people I can see loving it are the fat girls who fell in love with Fall Out Boy at the age of 13, and now that they're 16 they want to be darker so they turn to this band. "Fuck you mom and dad!"

Waking the Fallen is okay. City of Evil made me want to eat dead babies because of its faggotry, and the fact that millions of screaming fanboys invaded MX with reviews claiming that Avenged were the "saviors of metal" didn't help. Add the blandness of the self-titled, and that's why this band is bashed so often these days.

Vengeance is pretty bad, Gates is possibly the worst sweeper I've ever heard live, the bassist (they have a bassist? lol) is inaudible most of the time and Shadows is one of the more douchier frontmen in music today.

I'm reluctant to get a song called "God Hates Us," but we'll see how the album turns out. Album cover is decent. At least they didn't completely rip off one of their earlier ones again.

I listened to STST recently and realized how much The Rev kicked ass on that release. His style became much more bland later on but he was fairly talented, and i'm not saying that because he's not around anymore.

Guys, the rev wasn't that good.

Sure he could play some decent double bass beats but so can a bunch of my high schooler friends.

He wasn't "HOLY SHIT" good, but he was above average. He displayed some serious chops on STST though. Not necessarily suave, artistic playing, but still pleasing.

Finally, someone who agrees with me on this. He had some great fills in STST. A few in WTF, some nice overall playing in COE, kind of boring in A7X.

So at least this album will have a bit of screaming, and I'm looking forward to Kerry King's solo.
