Cool, hope the fans enjoy it.

Awesome, you always find the good stuff.
| |
this leaked a few days ago, it's pretty good
| |
Pretty decent but a few heavier numbers would have really helped it. They're trying to hard to be their classic rock heroes methinks
| |
will listen tonight probs
| |
Hoping this is way better than the singles
| |
Listening now, its kind of meh so far. Better than Shanri-la Dee Da though.
| |
will listen later, not expecting much though
| |
wasn't expecting much, didn't get much
pretty good band back in the day though
| |
Yeah this is pretty much a 3. Maybe 4 good songs here.
| |
The music is pretty good but the choruses are pretty bad
| |
Which in my book = fail.
| |
Yeah, and I think Scott is the problem. He just sounds real detachted
| |
Yeah he is a shell of what he used to be. Weiland was a fucking BEAST on Core and to a lesser extent, Purple. Vedder rip off aside, dude was a great vocalist.
| |
I never really bought the whole STP are wannabe Pearl Jam argument. They may have had some similarities, but they really don't sound all that close.
| |
Yeah, a better comparison is Ten era PJ with Facelift era Chains, at least on Core. The first time I heard Dead and Bloated I thought he sounded like Layne more than anything, although that was 17 years ago. But the consensus is they ripped off PJ I guess.
| |
They didn't develop their own sound until Purple. Core was in the same vein like you said of PJ and AiC, but yeah, I actually like all their other albums way better than core, but I haven't heard this one yet. And Shangra was better than what most people are saying in my opinion. From the two tracks I have heard off this, the music is great, but Scott sounds like he is going through the motions.
| |
A 3 if ever there was one. Ever so slightly better than I expected though.
| |
3.5
| |
After the first listen, i'm feeling a strong 3.5 with the potential to possibly get up to a 4, if it grows on me. As it stands now though, great album that lacks originality. Also, that section of tracks that come after Huckleberry and before Hazy Daze are the epitomy of meh. Everything else ranges from being pretty damn good to alright. Don't wanna rate it on here JUST yet though, gonna give it a few more listens first.
| |
Kinda boring, save a few exceptions...
| |
Give them back their Heroin. Garbage album.
| |
This is more pop than I thought it would be, but they sound rejuvenated. Refreshingly old fashioned rock yet modern.
| |
Loved Purple, but after No.4 and vatican gift shop, I kind of lost interest. I'm still willing to give core a try though
| |
@Bighans "But the consensus is they ripped off PJ I guess." "Vedder rip-off"
Who's consensus? Man comments like these just make me wanna rip people's faces of with my teeth, and I'm a pacifist by nature. Comment 'may' have had some relevance in 1992, but almost 20 years and half a dozen albums later?
| |
seems like nobody can make good music anymore
| |
STP never made good music. Ever see them live? You'd know what I mean then.
| |
Yeah, STP were never good. They were always a shitty corporate-grunge band. Kind of sucks when people
get nostalgic for bands like this when that era produced way better groups that are now forgotten.
| |
that was nothing special, but I didn't expect it to be
| |
Seen STP live twice, 6 years apart, both were great, although Scott could barely talk the second time. This is a great band and I'm excited to hear the CD, although no grand expectations here. And I'd love to hear the forgotten bands that are better that I forgot about Porchular. DeLeo bros rule.
