Velvet Revolver Update

2006-09-10 by Stormy Smiley Face | 8 Comments
Velvet Revolver formed from the ashes of two of the most influential bands in Rock and Roll history (Guns N' Roses, Stone Temple Pilots) and released their first album back in 2004 and it was titled "Contraband". It had three singles, 'Slither', 'Fall To Pieces', and 'Dirty Little Thing' with the most popular of the three being 'Slither'. The album went on to sell double-platinum and the band toured excessively throughout the following years.

Now the band's next album, "Libertad" (meaning liberty in Spanish), is being worked on and Matt Sorum has revealed part of the schedule for the recording.

..."Back to work this week. Want to get this album done and get back on tour to rock."..."(The vacation)... was fun, short but enough to inspire us to get the live feel again. We had been working in my studio but are now In a live rehearsal space. Coming up with some great jams. I am sorry we didn't play any new material on the 5 dates that we did play. The Band wants the new stuff to be the best it can be before we let it out. Anyway plan on writing all of Sept and part of October then in the studio. That is the plan, so if it takes a little longer trust me it will be worth the wait. This album is going to Rock. Thank you all for your patience!!!!"

It took me quite a while, but eventually I got into "Contraband" so know I am excited about a new album as well.

I love this style of hard rock, nice and gritty. Hopefully this'll be as good as contraband.

Yea, Im looking forward to this new album. If it is anything like "Come On, Come In" from the Fantastic Four movie, it'll be some really good stuff.
