2010-04-12 by K. Prince | 18 Comments
Metalcore quintet A Plea for Purging has started work on their third album The Marriage Of Heaven and Hell.

The band will be recording in the upcoming months with producer Joey Sturgis. Vocalist Andy Atkins said of Sturgis: "Our working relationship on the last record was awesome. We are excited on how Depravity came out and can't wait to see what magic Joey puts on these new songs". The band has not confirmed any of the rumors regarding The Marriage Of Heaven and Hell being one long breakdown.

The Marriage of Heaven and Hell will be released on July 6th, 2010.

"I can't stand the sight of your face, I can't stand the sound of your name any more, I will watch you die!"

The most confusing Christian metalcore band out there. Also one of the most generic.

I played with these guys last year on their "We've created a monsTOUR"...cool dudes, but their music overall is pretty meh. I suppose we'll see what happens on this new record though.

I actually enjoy them, they're probably the only Christian band I've really gotten into (admittingly confusing at times). Impending Doom, and With Blood Comes Cleansing however take the cake for most confusing Christian band.

The band has not confirmed any of the rumors regarding The Marriage Of Heaven and Hell being one long breakdown.

That made me laugh.

I'm not sure how Impending is confusing. . do you mean lyrically in regard to their faith? Because most of their lyrics are pretty blatant, at least in my opinion

Just the goreship thing kinda confuses me, as well as one of their shirt designs that had a pentagram. Plus, I saw them live one time, and they were drunk of their asses.

Well from what I know they define goreship as gore style worship music, and the merch is a "repentagram" whatever that means. . . and the whole drunk thing, I wouldn't be surprised because it seems like a lot of "christian" bands seem to drink, so i dunno what thats about really

Well, as someone who plays in the Metal scene and around Christian Metal bands, I can safely say that most of the "Christian" Metal bands do not live it in any way whatsoever. There is a really big band around my area that claim to be Christian and it's pretty blatant throughout their music, but when you talk to them they are some of the raunchiest dudes you can be around. I think a lot of it has to do with thinking they might be able to make a bigger impact and maybe get noticed by being a Christian Metal band. Nowadays, a lot of the Christian labels are outright signing Christian Metal bands just cause it's "the thing."

By the way, A Plea For Purging are some really legitimately cool guys. They are real chill and will talk to anyone who comes up to them. My band is actually working with the guitarist Blake right now on a shirt design and the bassist John talks to our vocalist on Facebook once in a while. Like I said, really cool dudes. I like some of their stuff and their instrumentation is fantastic. However, while I like Andy (the vocalist), I don't really care for his monotone, one-trick-pony vocals.

I bought the newest APFP album from the vocalist and he was pretty amusing trying to get me to buy another. . . for my mother. . .for my friend. . . for my dog and whoever else he could think up
