Interpol Sign To The Big Time

2006-08-15 by Stormy Smiley Face | 8 Comments
New York's Interpol have announced that with leaving indie label Matador Records they will be hopefully going bigtime now by signing to Capitol Records. The band has already been working on a follow-up to the 2004 album "Antics" and hope to come out with the new one next year.

This is what the band had to say previously in an article on Sputnikmusic about the new album:

"[W]e're hard at work on the writing of album three. We've been at it for six months... We're all very excited about it and think that you will be too. Having yet to record, we can only say that [its] release will come sometime next year... We can't offer much of a preview at present, but I can tell you we've got one gem in the works entitled "The Heinrich Maneuver." And another that was called "Pawn Shop." But that's called something else now."

I never thought they were indie until I actually researched them, 'Evil' used to be on tv 24/7.

I know I wouldn't leave Matador. But then again, my band wouldn't be loved by every Ian Curtis wannabe.

A thirst for champagne cannot be quenched with beer money. It's time for the inter pole smokers to get paid and seal their doom as artists.
