dont get me wrong i love those two bands (especially tmv) but how are they metal...

what the fuck other system album would you choose? Mesmerize and Hypnotize (the latter especially) are boring, and Steal this Album is just a bunch of generic B-Sides

still overall, from a non-metal news source this list is better than most. they got the right Mastodon album at least.

and i think the list might suffer from a few "oooh this is new, let's add it" selections.

but overall, not terrible

I think it was just one metalhead making the list (the metal blogger guy), which helps, as no one else from the AV Club had to
pretend to know about metal.

Right Isis. But this is list pretty good. Stop bitching about wrong albums.

This is probably one of the best metal lists I've seen put out from a website. They even have Melechesh, that's awesome.

steal this album is actually better than toxicity but there was no way they would have picked that over it.

I like the nods to stoner metal thrown in there.
Pretty good selection for a site that isn't based off music.

The Mars Volta isn't that metal, but it should be on some top list.

Right Mastodon, right System, right Isis

But there's a lot better metal than what's on this list

Listen to Deviant all you people saying SOAD's self-titled should be on the list. Also read the list title again and again until you realize why.
