As much as i hate christian bands and most metalcore, i'm not ashamed to say that i really enjoy AILD.

I really dislike this band.

Man, about 4-5 years ago I LOVED these guys. Not as into them as I used to be, but in hindsight, An Ocean Between Us was probably their best, most accomplished record. Hopefully this one continues the progression.

Sadly this is the intelligence level of most Cannibal Corpse fans. I'm really looking forward to this record. AOBU rose the bar for them and I have fairly high expectations for their next release.

Tbh lots of people hate on the band because of Lambesis and possibly the fact that scene kidz adore AiLD.

Manchino is a beast behind the kit even though he uses triggers on his pedals. Just they have quite a few filler tracks on earlier albums. Hopefully they can reduce the number of filler for this album.

As for the Christianity bit, let them believe what they want to believe - they aren't hurting anyone, they have always made decent music imo.

People really seem to hate this band a lot more for the slew of imitators it spawned (who were what made the style 'unoriginal') than the band itself.

Either way, looking forward to this a LOT. I'm curious to see what they can do now that the lineup's stayed constant since AOBU.

And Jonas is a pretty not so great show. But neither is The Office, Waior. Yep. Went there. Massively overrated. British version was infinitely better.

Even if you don't like the show, The Office and Jonas can't even be compared.

I would never doubt in a million years that they would be fun to see live. However, their albums are the absolute definition of generic metalcore which does not fly well with me.

to me AILD are in the spectrum of generic metalcore but they take it to the next level. if you want generic go listen to Killswitch or Caliban whom both are not even close to the musicianship and songwriting skills of AILD. and yeah they have progressed with each album.

They've gotten progressively better with each album. An Ocean Between Us was an excellent "mainstream" metalcore release. Hell it was even great when just considering metalcore as a whole. Looking forward to this release, they were one of the first bands to get me into metal 4-5 years ago.

Balls and bringonthebreakdown own this thread, and one of them only posted a single message but good lord the trolls ARE out of control in this thread. Since we started on the whole Cannibal Corpse issue, I've never loled so hard at a live show. I thought it was statues on stage with moving necks. All I saw was five synchronized dudes headbanging for a half hour. Then As I Lay Dying came on, actually put on a show and showed everyone why they were headlining. Sorry to get all these CC fans' panties up in a bunch, we'll establish common ground and I'll state that I can get some enjoyment out of Corpsegrinder.

The fact that news about As I Lay Dying led to the Jonas Brothers should be definitive proof about how terrible Christian metalcore truly is.

I really tried to get into them, and while I do enjoy a few of their songs from time to time, I just can't get past Tim's dinosaur roar sounding vocals. Although, ironically, I love his vocals on Austrian Death Machine.

Corpsegrinder CC is so much better than Barnes CC.

Hah, it's funny that people rip on KsE and Caliban as generic metalcore and yet they've been doing it longer than just about anyone else.

Caliban has about 1.5 decent albums, the rest are boring to me. Funny side note though, I am going to see Caliban with All Shall Perish, After the Burial and Born of Osiris on Friday. Not because I'm a big fan, but they're playing a venue my band use to gig at and we were pretty tight with Born of Osiris back in the day so I'm checking it out. $10, why not?
