How the hell are bands like Linkin Park and Panic! At The Disco better than At The Drive-In?
| |
umm.
| |
I don't even know what to say... Kerrang fans need to start listening to more music ASAP.
| |
I think they got the list the wrong way round.
Glassjaw, High On Fire, At The Drive-In, Converge, Opeth should all be well above most of the trash in the top 20.
But hey, it's Kerrang, who really expected any better?
| |
Clearly 30 should be much higher.
| |
why is American Idiot only at number 1?
| |
did they seriously spell leviathan wrong?
| |
This is quite possibly the worst list I've ever seen. Yes, even the worst out of the every fan list. Worst than Rolling Stone lists, and that's bad.
| |
50, 47 and 40 should be so much higher. Kerrang are idiots.
| |
I don't even know why anyone compiles a list like this. It is so objective. For example, this is terrible imo and it really only considers artists that have broken through to the mainstream.
| |
I could have compiled a better list when I was 13, and still listened to overwhelmingly shitty music. Because even in that state of mind, I knew Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water would NEVER, EVER make a Top 50 best albums list.
I am disgraced to say I ever even laid a hand on this atrocious magazine, even if it was for a brief moment. Once.
| |
Well...
It's not SO bad. I enjoy a lot of these bands actually.
But it doesn't really make much sense. It's just a fan 'compilation' with no real rhyme or reason to it.
| |
At least there are some great albums on here, too bad they have to share a room with the shitty ones.
| |
It considers artists that are popular and well known. It was voted upon by the general populous, and the sad fact is that the majority of people are going to listen to (and enjoy) Limp Bizkit over, say, Cynic.
That being said, I'm really surprised to see some of the entries that got onto the list. I didn't think anyone remembered that Funeral For A Friend album, and the fact that Gallows is on there sort of blows my mind.
Sad to see three different Slipknot albums on here, and the best one is the lowest on the list. Panic! shouldn't be on there, nor should BFMV; '21st Century Breakdown' shouldn't be on there (but to tell the truth, I don't mind 'American Idiot' being #1; regardless of whether you like the music or not, it was a monumental project by a band that I would have never expected it from).
Happy about Muse; happy about Deftones; happy about System; happy about ATD-I; pleasently surprised to see both Alkaline Trio and Glassjaw. The entire list is out of order, though.
All in all, very typical, very mediocre list. Then again, I didn't expect all that much from it.
| |
This could be worse
| |
Kerrang was always hilarious to me
| |
I was actually surprised to see like 3 or 4 good bands on it. I was expecting 100% crap
| |
^my thoughts exactly
| |
Dear People of Kerrang,
You're all idiots.
Love, Mask
| |
pfffft.
| |
I saw this, and yeah it's crap, but it was readers who voted for the list I think, not the magazine.
| |
this makes me want to throw up
| |
I didn't expect anything from Kerrang
| |
How retarded does one have to be to subscribe to Kerrang? Seriously, every other week they hail some new band that nobody's every heard of as "saving rock and roll."
| |
"10. LEVIATHON - MASTODON"
An olypmpic event of which people race each other on the backs of monstrous sea creatures?
| |
i knew people these days had terrible taste for music but this list just takes that shit to another level of suck.
| |
List could be worse... I've got more than a few favorites on here.
| |
lol @ 3, but hell 5 is where it should be!
| |
hate to break it to you man but it's actually three times
| |
Here's what matters: circulation numbers for magazines (especially something as niche as this) are down so significantly that many magazines can barely stay alive...Kerrang!'s days are numbered lol.
| |
And the fact that they put the Green Album on here is atrocious.
| |
limp bizkit should be much higher
| |
i like that they voted for Three Cheers more than Black Parade...i was under the impression that most people felt otherwise
| |
also wtf is with all hope is gone and 21st century breakdown those albums are huge disappointments
| |
I think the writers of Kerrang threw Jane Doe on the list. There's no way the readers are that smart.
Converge are the most popular metalcore band in the American scene.
| |
seems their readers are 75% retarded
| |
There are a few awesome albums on here, but they aren't near high enough.
| |
I knew there was a reason I never read that magazine.
| |
Now we are all sons-of-bitches.
| |
They are trolling us
| |
Does anyone else find it funny that the list is called "Top 50 Albums of the 21st Century"? We're in year 9 out of 100 for the 21st century.
Kerrang is making the assumption that the next 91 years are going to be all downhill from a music standpoint.
| |
No Jonas Brothers? WTF!
| |
Kerrang is making the assumption that the next 91 years are going to be all downhill from a music standpoint.
Brokencyde will take over the world.
| |
It's really not as bad as I was expecting, good to see all three Muse albums, as well as Glassjaw and ATDI
Although I'm apalled at the lack of Brand New
| |
Brokencyde will take over the world.
But Aiden will rise and try to take it from them. And a nuclear war will start and that will be the end of civilization as we know it
| |

| |

| |
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: democracy doesn't work.
| |
Pretty glad I stopped listening to Kerrang when I was twelve.
| |
wow, how do you listen to magazines, i wanna try this out
| |
16 - All Hope is Gone. Pretty much sums up this list.
| |
THE POISON = BETTER THAN LATERALUS
| |
This wasn't terrible, at least they had a few good picks like Mastodon, At The Drive In, Opeth, Dillinger Escape Plan, Avenged Sevenfold, and Converge of course. LOL @ The Green Album and American Idiot being on the list. Rolling Stone is way worse guyz.
| |
Avenged Sevenfold
Put that in the wrong sentence, bro
| |
There are some really, really bad albums in that list.
| |
Satyricon made the list? lolwut
| |
XulOnerom has seen the future!
| |
Was going to pretend I meant listening to the Kerrang channel, but I meant reading the magazine. Going to go fishing with blue, will watch some sour, and then eat some C#.
| |
this list brings the lulz
| |
Bruce Lee!
| |
EPIC FAIL
| |
Screw you!
='(
| |
bruce lee pwns he bitchslapped chuck norris like a pimp to a hoe
| |

| |

47. RELATIONSHIP OF COMMAND - AT THE DRIVE-IN

| |
KID A
| |
05. THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET REVENGE - MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
thats what kills ME!
| |
you guys they forgot "Swan Songs" maybe we should email them or sumthin
| |
well asside from many of the best albums being missing... I agree with PhantomLimb - the list should go the other way XD this list will make sure I stay clear of Kerrang magazine forever, not that I ever gave them any interest to begin with.
| |
Converge are the most popular metalcore band in the American scene.
lol.
| |
no brand new
no mars volta
no coheed
no protest the hero
but thank the good lord 30 seconds to mars is #4
or else goodbye good judgement
| |
kerrang is always fail
lack of coheed makes this a mega epic fail
| |
Absolution at #2 is fine by me.
| |
If this list really is voted for by people then people are fucktards.
| |
If anyone needs me I will be in my fallout shelter as it appears that the apocalypse is here.
| |
Ughhh. Kerrang is teh suck.
| |
Some very unusual picks here.
| |
fairly balanced for kerrang! I suppose.
| |
i'm confused
| |
This list is perplexing.
| |
good/bad
| |
Some good stuff in there.
| |
I will give them credit for nodding At The Drive-In, but will take away that credit by putting not one, but two Green Day albums above them.
| |

| |
this comment sucked and was edited by the original poster.
| |
i think this is mostly crap... but there is a surprising amount of metal. This pleases me.
And YEA! dillinger is on there?! amazing
| |
25. PUZZLE - BIFFY CLYRO
who?
| |
List is retarded, but american Idiot is my favourite album so i'm not complaining :P
| |
My inner glam rock fan boy was glad to see the Darkness on there though
| |
If you are going to make Absolution #2, don't make Green Day #1.
| |
Could have had In Rainbows.
| |
haha that darkness album isn't bad if you don't take it serious.
"Get ya hand off my woman mother fuuccckkaaaaaaaa"
| |
So now we know that Kerrang! fails
| |
this is so lame, why is liek ever slipknot album on here
| |
This could very easily be the best 50 albums of the decade (for that kerrangs fan base), excluding a few like Limp Bizkit and Slipknot (1 album woulda been fine). They just got them all in the wrong order. I have no issue with Linkin Park and Panic! At The Disco on there. As far as mainstream music goes, those two albums weren't that bad at all, like for example, I thought Panic! brought a pretty nice new perspective on the stale pop punk genre.
edit: Needs more Thrice
| |
Kerrang is just a pretty horrible magazine, and the radio is worse (Metro Station?).
Funny though, i really don't rate Absolution that highly at all. And no Nine Black Alps...!
| |
uh wat lol
| |
LEVIATHON
| |
where's Chinese Democracy!?
but seriously, this list makes me want to slit my wrists, and I don't want to do that
D:
| |
happy with the muse making it, no coheed...zzzz. Happy with trivium as well.
| |
I'm just glad that Arctic Monkeys didn't appear on the list. That would be sure to destroy what is left. It wouldn't surprise me if they appear in Kerrang next year.
Except that Arctic Monkeys are easily in the top 5 British bands around right now, just they're not a "Kerrang band"
| |
This is for real? I like Slipknot but Iowa is #3? What a horrible list.
I'm suprised by the lack of Lamb Of God. You'd think that at the very least Ashes Of The Wake would make the list.
| |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
| |
I agree that In Rainbows should have made the cut, or at least one Radiohead album for that matter.
| |
Radiohead's not a Kerrang band
| |
The lack of Thrice kinda surprises me too
| |
http://twitter.com/MJ_Day/status/3245737318
| |
where's Chinese Democracy!?
please tell me this is a fucking joke.
Don't worry, I kid I kid. I just love tearing down that album
| |
They put slipknot, metallica, avenged sevenfold, trivium, killswitch, bullet for my valentine, linkin park, my chemical romance and fall out boy above Opeth. Even if you're not an Opeth fanboy, wtf? My Chemical Romance??? Seriously? Kerrrang fans must all be scene kids or something, although it would be news to me if scene kids are literate.
| |
mcr is good, bra
| |
Funeral For A Friend and Converge surprised me enough to be okay with this. they just needed to be higher up.
| |
Seriously? Kerrrang fans must all be scene kids or something,
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS TO THE RESCUE
| |
dun dundundunnnnnnn
| |
To be honest, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. And disregarding the order, it's got a suprising amount of awesome on there. Regarding the order its a massive load of shit.
| |
Thrice aren't that big in the UK and aren't really a Kerrang band.
| |
i agree about american idiot being 1 and there are some really good albums here. unfortunately there's also some total shit as well.
| |
so i just looked at your avatar for the first time like... ever, AliW, and LOL
| |
hahahaha
| |
terrible
| |
De-Loused in the Comatorium?
| |
all hope is gone + 21st century breakdown + NO COHEED AT ALL?!
| |
They are trolling us
| |
i agree about american idiot being 1 and there are some really good albums here. unfortunately there's also some total shit as well.
