I like this one better

kinda reminds me of what they did with the special edition of TAITA, with the interchangable cover cards. my mate had one of those versions, and being a tard, i didn't get into the band until that version had become REALLY rare...
| |
This is the best of the three, imo.
| |
ok I'm going to be honest, I've never listened to Thrice before, nor any post-hardcore band. What would be the best album to start with, bearing in mind I'm new to the genre?
| |
personally, I'd say Vheissu or Artist in the Ambulance but there are huge divides in opinion over the best thrice albums
edit - err, kind of read your question wrong, this would be where you would want to start with thrice; i'll leave post-hardcore recommendations to someone who knows the genre better
| |
okay I'll listen to that first then. I really have no idea what it's going to sound like lol
| |
I only have Viessu, might get the new one.
| |
The Illusion of Safety is the closest thing they've made to a true "post-hardcore" album, Vheissu is their most progressive album, and The Artist in the Ambulance is probably their most accessible. One of those would be best to start out with, depending on your tastes.
| |
I think you'd like this one better, Alligator.
| |
cool, I heard the first song and really liked it.
| |
i like the cover..thats what the news was about right??
| |
A member of Thrice sneezing is news around these parts ...
| |
Wow, what a completely and totally different cover compared to the original...
| |
Everyone who DL'd the leak better buy the album today. I already got it, quality is so much better. And i really like the itunes cover.
| |
The cover on the itunes version is kinda cool in a really simple way. But this third one is better.
| |
I like this one and the simple one the most.
| |
The iTunes store one is the best.
| |
i like the original one the best tbh
| |
I like the iTunes one the best, but I think this one and the original will look great in physical form.
| |
Chan what do you think of the record now that it's finally out?
| |
yeah cover is better than old one
| |
im loving all the covers of this album, thrice FTW!
| |

Thrice could record a whole ALBUM of sneezes and it would be awesome.
| |
Even if it wasn't about the music, these guys are awesome just for donating to a charity with the proceeds of each album.
| |
I like this one aesthetically, but the other one worked better with the albums concept and sound.
| |
What's the third one? i haven't seen it
| |
The second one, i mean.
| |
Its just one w/ the Thrice symbol (scroll up and look at TheGoddamnBatman's icon)
| |
What the fuck is "True Post-hardcore"? And honestly all of their first 3 albums are post-hardcore.
No shit - It's a broad genre. I just meant that Illusion of Safety sounds the most like what people would typically expect when they think of a post-hardcore band. Also, Identity Crisis was sometimes branded with other tags, like emo-core, when it was released, and the Artist in the Ambulance has a couple songs on it that wouldn't be considered post-hardcore if they weren't done by Thrice. I've never heard Illusion of Safety called anything but post-hardcore.
