Possible Faith No More Reunion

Quote:
Mike Patton, currently fronting Mondo Cane and about four other different bands, made his mark in the late '80s, early '90s fronting Faith No More. It was the band's, The Real Thing, that created the funk-metal craze, opened the door for the Red Hot Chili Peppers brand of funk-rock, and tipped off what would become the Nu-metal revolution. Bands as diverse as Korn, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones benefitted from their groundbreaking work, with songs like "Epic" and "From Out Of Nowhere." Throw in Nirvana, and the Alternative revolution was born.
We spoke to Mike Patton and asked him if he thought The Real Thing would be as influential to music as any album in the last 20 years.
Patton On If He Realizes Real Thing Influence
"No, but it's not my place to criticize. I just make the music and put it out there. Where it fits in the world, how important it is, how important it isn't is up to people like you. I have nothing to say about it."
We asked Patton how he remembered his days with Faith No More.
Mike Patton On How He Looks Upon Faith No More
"Fondly. They were good years. It was a decade of my life. It was lots of ups and lots of downs, but ultimately that's where I learned my chops and learned the craft and the business."
So, with the album celebrating 20 years next year is there a possibility of getting back together with the Faith No More guys?
Mike Patton On Faith No More Reunion
"I wouldn't rule it out. I don't think we would need to reform the band, but maybe there's other things we can do together."
Faith No More broke up in 1998. Patton recently has gotten movie soundtrack work. His most recent role was making the gruesome monster noises of the creatures in I Am Legend.

He's been saying he wouldn't rule it out for years.

A classic line-up with Jim Martin would be doubtful.

Still, this could be fantastic if it ever did come to light. As great as FNM was, i'm increasingly convinced they had more or less unrealised potential.

I yelped when I read the title. But the article is a slight letdown, I'd love to see them back.

I wouldn't miss it for the world if they actually did come back, but there's not enough here to say anything really...I was just thinking they should do this the other day though.

The only way we'd see a FNM reunion (God Willingly) would be to get their last guitar player, Jon Hudson. Ive read countless interviews from the past saying he worked so well with them. Hopefully this could be in the cards.
