Sleep returns with new lineup

Sleep have returned with their first new music in 8 years via Third Man Records as well as a big lineup change. A new track Have Spacesuit Will Travel features new additions Bubba Dupree on guitar, in place of Matt Pike (formally of Void) and Dale Crover, in place of Jason Roeder (Melvins, Red Kross, ect.). No statement from Matt Pike has been issued, but the band have since stated that a new album is recorded and have also announced a North American fall tour, bringing them coast to coast.

The more I hear this song and read the promo stuff around it, the more put off I am from the whole thing. I've seen people say there was a Matt Pike interview where he concedes Sleep is Al's baby, and that's fine I guess. But with this song you can definitely tell that Matt's not there, and without him it's just Sleep Lite. Like the song is more or less the same Sleep style song, but it's just so neutered. Sad times, new Sleep is supposed to be exciting. : (
