Sabbath unveil new 1970 live footage 2026-08-18 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 2 Comments | Previously unreleased footage of Black Sabbath performing N.I.B. in 1970 has been uploaded to the official YouTube channel of the pioneering German television programme Beat-Club.
The performance was recorded in Bremen, West Germany, during the first of the band’s two appearances on the show that year. Black Sabbath also performed their self-titled song and a cover of Carl Perkins’ Blue Suede Shoes while the programme’s technical crew adjusted its cameras and audio equipment.
Unlike footage of those performances, the recording of N.I.B. was never broadcast or officially released. It is believed to have been withheld because Ozzy Osbourne mistakenly changed one of the song’s lyrics during the performance.
Black Sabbath returned to Beat-Club in September 1970, performing Paranoid and Iron Man from their then-new second album.
N.I.B. originally appeared on the group’s self-titled debut, released in February 1970. The newly available footage captures the classic lineup of Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward during the earliest stage of their career.
