Tye Zamora leaves AAF

2006-05-14 by Damrod EMERITUS | 8 Comments
According to the fan site alienantfarm.tk, bassist and founding member Tye Zamora left alt. rock band Alien Ant Farm. As quoted by the website:
"Tye left the band and it was confirmed on the bands MySpace. Here's a quote:
'In another lineup change, original bassist Tye Zamora left for college after recording Up In The Attic. Enter Alex Barreto, who they grew up with skateboarding and playing punk rock before he became a respected player in hardcore bands Chain Of Strength, Inside Out, and Hard Stance (the latter two with Rage Against The Machine's Zack de la Rocha).'
So maybe Tye didn't leave the band permanently? Lets hope so! I think it may be the begining of new Alien Ant Farm...and 'new' doesn't have to mean 'worse' so cheer up people!!!"
The bands website does not yet state any official things about this, but the MySpace page states Alex Barreto on bass in the line-up section. Many might consider this a big loss, as Zamora's bass lines helped define the songs of AAF, making them quite interesting.
How the new bassist performs is yet to be seen/heard. Probably live, as the above statment tells he had no involvment in the recording process of the new album "Up in the Attic"

yeh, he was good, although he looked and acted like a bit of a tosser, though his lines were good.

Yeah, I give him an enormous amount of credit for going back to school to finish his degree. I mean, he finished recording the new album, so it's not like this new bassist is going to make that album suck, heh. And their new guitarist is amazing, so if this new guy sucks, the guitarist will outshine him substantially. And expect Cosgrove and Dryden to continue to be solid.
