it’s impressive how truly awful this is
| |
I am convinced this band is trolling everyone at this point. There's no way they listened to this and said "Yeah this is good." without rolling their eyes.
| |
sadly this'll hit #1 on the rock charts without even trying
| |
Idk what you're all hating this for. My 14 year old self would've raged to this
| |
This vocalist killed any potential this band ever had
| |
More like so called music
| |
"put a chainsaw through the wall"
haha okay
| |
also, the album cover their new album is beyond laughably bad
| |
Alright, I'll be honest, I do enjoy this. That said, it feels like TDG has really stagnated, even in terms of their own scene. At least when Adam was in the band, you could say that every record tried to push itself and try something new. Since Matt joined up, TDG has become consistently mediocre. When you're in the radio scene with actually talented groups, like Nothing More and Gemini Syndrome, this kind of crap loses its appeal.
| |
We could be talking about Dagoba - The Last Crossing instead.
| |
Generic like the last four albums.
| |
I feel like this could be a fun song if it wasn’t so lazily written. The chorus should have more lyrics instead of just repeating, that first update allow room for the title of the song to hang in the air and have more weight, and the bridge shouldn’t just be lines from the rest of the song repeated.
| |
lol this band
| |
I don't mean to be a dick, but what do you all expect? This band was never anything more than something for 14 year old kids to feel edgy to, so why are you expecting a masterpiece now?
| |
I’m not, I’m expecting competently executed junk food.
| |
Goddamn now I just want to fry up some onion rings
| |
It’s not terrible. It’s sonically more animated than anything from their previous 2 albums. It’s a shame because with tracks like “I Am Machine” and “The Abyss” they have shown they can write some really great radio rock. This isn’t the worst song they’ve put out, but it’s not really great either

Wait, is TDG trying to tell me the world is going to hell? Well I just don’t believe that cause I haven’t heard it said by any other 2000s rock band still struggling to truck along before.
| |
You'd think with how little effort TDG put into their songwriting they'd be pumping out albums every year but no, somehow every one of their records has dropped roughly every three years.
How does it take 3 years to write something this basic
| |
The most positive thing about this is that they've done worse in the past lol
| |
more like So Called MUSIC [2]
| |
Yea, their music is more like Three Days Grease, having been too long in the sun
| |
This isn't amazing or anything, but it's not that bad. If the lyrics were "smartened up" it would be a huge improvement
| |
Yeah, musically, it’s an mejorable slice of radio rock. My issue is purely with the singer being a lazy writer.
| |
Honestly don’t get the hate with this band. What’s the difference between these guys and any other alt-metal band doing the same kind of sound? Lol lyrics are cringe but it’s just by the numbers, inoffensive alt-metal
| |
Other bands like this get hate too, don't they?
| |
I'm known for being a longtime fanboy of this band on here and I will defend this single. It's like a melting pot of their best skillsets; verses are kinda gritty and rough around the edges, the chorus reminds me of The Mountain, the bridge reminds me of I Am Machine, the electronic influences remind me of Transit and Human....it's nowhere near the soaring highs of One-X but it's pretty passable and what do you people expect? how the hell can you continuously rip them for poor lyrics (Matt Walst got his big break from....Porn Star Dancing) while acknowledging the format they're in??? jfc you expect masterpieces from radio rock bands

they usually write for a year tops and spend the other 2 touring in support of the previous album
| |
Tbh seeing all that gear and equipment in the first 10 seconds of the vid had me salivating

“ how the hell can you continuously rip them for poor lyrics (Matt Walst got his big break from....Porn Star Dancing) while acknowledging the format they're in??? jfc you expect masterpieces from radio rock bands”
Dumb take. There are radio rock bands with better lyric writing, and this band used to be one of them. I can have standards for radio rock, and saying the singer has always been a shitty lyricist isn’t a reason for me to lower my standards.
| |
Nickelback have better lyrical writing than this band nowadays
| |
I'll always have a soft spot for these guys first two albums just cause it was a big chunk of my teen years, but this band went to absolute shit right before Adam left the band. The instumentals on this song are decent, but ruined by this singers trash lyrics and trash voice. Guess I wasn't expecting any different though.
| |
Please make it stop.
| |
lol that quicker bit in the bridge, will their proud heaviest™️ album of their career arrive?
| |
Aren't these guys like 60 years old now?
| |
I actually kinda enjoyed the beginning a little bit then the chorus hit and I stopped listening
| |
“I feel like this could be a fun song if it wasn’t so lazily written. The chorus should have more lyrics instead of just repeating”
Do you know what a hook is
| |
“ Do you know what a hook is “
Yes, and either you’re misunderstanding me or you don’t know what a hook is. The chorus could have had a second line instead of just repeating the first one. Plenty of memorable hooks consist of more than one line.
| |
I’d agree but it’s not *literally* just one line is it? It is repetitive though. I just got some “hooks can’t be repetitive” vibes from your comments here but looking on your profile you do have some pretty based ratings so I do retract my passive aggressive statement. That’s what I get for defending Matt Walst TDG.

Oh, no worries! Plus, I’m an Iron Maiden fan, so my criticism of the chorus being super repetitive is like.., I can’t go too hard on a band for that, right? That would make me a hypocrite and a half.
