The members all have metal-related backgrounds; vocalist/guitarist Khaled Lowe was in a short-lived deathcore act called Raise The Dead; bassist Barnaby Maddick was a session
musician in the psych-doom band Purson; and drummer Jaime Gomez Arellano is a producer/engineer and owner of Orgone Studios, working on albums including Ghost’s Opus
Eponymous.
Messenger's music however is described as: "a cosmic ode to the forces of nature and the inevitable cycle of life... Their music dwells equally in the earthly sounds of
folk music and spacey sounds of progressive psychedelia, softly spoken guitar lines addled with toots of flute and eerie swoops of strings, create "an atmosphere of illusion
and fantasy."
