Abigail Williams split up

2012-07-02 by DarkNoctus | 36 Comments
US black metallers Abigail Williams have decided to call it quits after their last US tour is over. Dates are available on their Facebook page.

After much consideration we have decided to make these upcoming Abigail Williams shows our last US tour. This was a very hard decision to make but feels absolutely necessary at this point. I've had the best times of my life with this band and learned so much about what I want to do with music as well as what I don't like about the industry etc and we honestly feel like its best to put the band to rest after making what we feel to be our
very best album. Im honestly just feeling satisfied with everything we have done as Abigail Williams and I feel ready to put it to rest. We want everyone to know this has nothing to do with differences inside the band as we are still very much a family and these are still the same people I want to make music with now and in the future.

Pretty sure I only listened to Gallow Hill once a few years ago. Is anything else of theirs worth checking out, or?

I only listened to the first album once and thought it was pretty good. Apparently the last two sucked though.

Their last album was a major step up so at least they went out on a (relatively) high note. Can't say I'm too shaken up over this, though.

I liked the last one a good amount. Can't say I'll really miss them all that much.

This sucks. They were progressively getting better. Wonder if any of them are going to form bands on their own?

We think that 2012 is the perfect year for new beginnings and we definitely plan to put music out later this year in the form of a new band(s)

Well i guess that solves that. Could be cool If i ever figure out what the new fucking band is going to be called.

Woah, it seems like more people are saying they like their older stuff than newer stuff. The older stuff comes off like a bunch of br00tal kids trying to play symphonic black metal. the newer stuff seems more like WITTR or Agalloch...i'm surprised people don't like the newer stuff more

Kinda sucks, then again, i've only ever heard like 1 song from each album by these guys, so...
