I have extremely low expectations for this, but I'll listen anyways. For old times sake...

Terrible, terrible. Listened to it three times in its entirety and nothing new, only Insomnium somehow sounding more straightforward and dull than ever. And I like this band

Couple of dull tracks ("Regain The Fire" and "Through The Shadows") but so far pretty great.

Also gonna listen to it for "old times sake", though the last album wasn't really convincing.

Fuck I was thinking of something else, however what it was baffles me. Still, don't like this from first impressions

what baffles me is the fact that this band releases the same song over and over again and people still enjoy it even though its clearly shit

I don't like the vocals on this. It's too low and illegible when does his growling. It was better on past albums.

Well I am a complete fanboy of this band soooo.

Listened to it twice and it was good. Can't say there were any tracks that blew me away, though.

wouldn't call them bad, but I agree that they've been stagnating ever since Above the Weeping World.

It seems that Ville Friman has been an extremely powerful influence in regards to the direction taken with this record, and it shows. The sound here is different in several rather profound ways to their past work.

Expectations were super low, but it's actually a really really solid record so far. Definitely nothing too groundbreaking
here, it's an Insomnium record just... pretty good.

it was really painful for me to listen to,
i did like since the day it all came down
but there is nothing that is really enjoyable here for me

nothing against the band but i feel ive heard it all before,

i mean its like how many times will i hear the same stuff over and over

wheres all the bands that can make me giz all over the place

maybe jizzinmypants might know

The Day it All Came Down is my favorite melodeath song, period.

They have been giving us nothing but a gradual slide onto a boring plateau of sameness since. Every album just wears my patience more. This is really no exception.

With two exceptions (see Crysis's two exceptions) this is good, solid stuff. It, like the rest of their discography, just hits the spot for me sometimes.
