Dead at 27
Hmmmmm
|
| |
Uhh what..
the 27 cure still continues?
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
rip..
|
| |
fuck
|
| |
Such a shame, she had an incredible voice.
RIP.
|
| |
damn, so young too. rip
|
| |
Yet another member of the 27 club.
|
| |
Shocker.
RIP.
|
| |
bad news, RIP
|
| |
This should have been expected, honestly im surprised she even lasted this long given the way she lived her life.
|
| |
shld have gone to rehab
|
| |
wow
rip
|
| |
can't say i was a fan, but she did have a great voice. RIP
|
| |
i raised my eyebrows at this but i wasn't that surprised at reading this news which sadly tells its own tale.
great shame
RIP
|
| |
wat
|
| |
Seriously, I always thought she was going towards her 40s...
RIP
|
| |
pretty sure the norway attacks got huge media coverage so i'm not sure what you're talking about lol
|
| |
hmm
|
| |
It was obvious she was doing terrible things to her body with all the drugs and drink but damn, i was still quite shocked when i read this news article. I wasn't a fan of her or anything but i would never wish the poor girl dead.
R.I.P.
P.S. The 27 Club thing is really eerie. It's a complete coinsidence of course, but still pretty unnerving.
|
| |
Shocked, looks like the abuse of the alcohol & drugs finally caught up with her.
Despite that, it's still sad to lose a musician; whatever the cause.
R.I.P.
|
| |
Despite her lifestyle choices, she did have great talent, and for that she'll be missed. RIP Amy.
|
| |
92 people were killed in a mass murder in Norway yesterday, yet more people are concerned over a washed-up crack whore dying. God Bless 'Murica.
it wasnt reported on here because it wasnt music related, it still doesnt make it any less of an atrocity
|
| |
I was surpised she lasted this long.
Sidenote, how the fuck is Charlie Sheen still alive? All memes aside.
|
| |
Oh, I'm sure she died peacefully, of "natural causes"....
No, in all seriousness though, R.I.P. She did have a fucking incredible voice.
|
| |
can't say im surprised but its still shocking considering the age.
RIP.
|
| |
woah
|
| |
rip
|
| |
I'm moaning, I'll miss her so much
R.I.P.
|
| |
"92 people were killed in a mass murder in Norway yesterday, yet more people are concerned over a washed-up crack whore dying. God Bless 'Murica."
OH MY GOD YOU'RE SO EDGY xDDDD WE THINK YOU'RE SO COOL AND HARDCORE
but she was really talented. This is predictable, but shitty nonetheless
|
| |
They should have made her go to rehab
|
| |
This will happen with many artists of our generation unfortunately. 27 is still young though...RIP.
|
| |
92 people were killed in a mass murder in Norway yesterday, yet more people are concerned over a washed-up crack whore dying. God Bless 'Murica.
Why is there always "that guy" who needs post this in an attempt to mount his high horse and make us look like assholes?
I'm really impartial towards both of news stories. But this news event is simply more accessible and there's more to talk about.
|
| |
RIP.
|
| |
Obfuscation is talking about people on his Facebook, guys, which is understandable - it's easier to make a quip about Amy Winehouse than say something meaningful about what happened in Norway.
The news outlets are by far covering the Norway events much more heavily than Amy Winehouse, so they do have their priorities in order... still shitty that she never got back on her feet and it ended this way, though.
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
RIP
Can't say it's a suprise though
|
| |
Didn't know she was still so young, this really sucks. RIP.
|
| |
RIP
Sad to see her go, even if I didn't particularly love her stuff.
|
| |
yeah, I am surprised facebook is full of jokes with this.
RIP
|
| |
I'm surprised she lasted this long.
|
| |
thought she died a year ago honestly. not surprised at all.
one less attention-seeking vanity moron with little self-control on the planet, i guess.
|
| |
She left some great art...
peace.
|
| |
please ban jom
|
| |
This is horrible, but completely expected.
|
| |
This is sad and unsurprising. RIP
|
| |
cant believe she died before Pete Doherty
|
| |
This 27 club thing is getting ridiculous.
RIP
|
| |
The moral of the story is if you're making music for a living don't do any hard drugs til after 27.
|
| |
That's not good, but at least I won't have to keep hearing about her.
|
| |
that would apply if we were talking about a productive member of society here. unfortunately, we are not.
christ you're such a cunt. it doesn't matter what somebody contributed to society, a life is a life. she was a talented singer who lived a drug-ridden, sad life. she wasn't a murderer, nor was she in anyway an inherently bad person, she just had a drug problem. i suppose the death of homeless alcoholics and those living on welfare are also irrelevant seeing as they aren't "productive members of society". it's ok to not like her, I don't even like her, but it's incredibly disrespectful and pathetic to write the shit you're writing on an article about her death. keep it to yourself.
|
| |
Tf2 is fun
|
| |
that would apply if we were talking about a productive member of society here. unfortunately, we are not.
well, actually, we are. the fact that she sold millions of albums and her music was enjoyed by those people is one thing. also the sales helped the economy. when was the last time you managed to do those two things?
|
| |
i'm sorry to blow up, but it's just really flawed thinking on your part
|
| |
Never could get into her albums, though her voice was different in a time of Gaga clones.
|
| |
oh dear. This isn't surprising, I guess, but its still sad.
RIP
|
| |
Not surprised and didn't like her, but her music was alright, and nobody deserves to die that young, regardless of their lifestyle.
|
| |
This should have been expected, honestly im surprised she even lasted this long given the way she lived her life.
This, but goddamn she musta had some fun.
|
| |
yeah i never got why we treat drug addicts like criminals and not like sick people
anywho, RIP
|
| |
Too late for rehab now
|
| |
/facepalm
another talent wasted.
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
we could all see it coming, but that doesn't make the news less sad, whether you liked her or not and regardless of her lifestyle.
objectively speaking the events in Norway are 92 times more tragic, because 92 (at least) times more people died. but comparing the two is pointless. this is a music site.
|
| |
predict 'back to black' will get a 4 avg rating in a couple of days
|
| |
facebook in times like these makes me want to destroy society RIP
|
| |
Fuck
RIP
|
| |
I hated her music...
But still, it's a life, and it's a shame.
RIP.
|
| |
RIP
i never liked her music much, but it's sad to see somebody have their career cut short
i really think the 27 thing is brought up way too much though... we are just more likely to notice that an artist died at 27 because we've been told about the curse...
there are plenty of up and coming musicians/young stars that have died at other ages, but the moment one dies at 27 it becomes an "add them to the list" kind of thing
thats my 2 cents at least
|
| |
This sucks and my dad will be well gutted when he finds out. Her music wasn't particularly my thing but she undoubtedly had talent. I guess this is what drink and drugs do to you. RIP.
|
| |
Predictable, but still. RIP.
|
| |
"I dont get you people, how can you care for someone you don't know...
wtf.. millions of people die everyday, or rape, murder and shit.
But now this bitch dies, so you guys say R.i.P..
what about all the other people who had no money, were born in shit..
you guys are fucking trolling."
Dude, I can't say RIP every bloody second for every single person that dies. You know man, it's life, and people die. It's just, not many people get recognized, and when they die only their friends and family care. I never cared for Winehouse, nor did I think she was all that great of a person. But, I still respect her, and it's still sad her life is gone. There are billions of people out there, many of whom are better people and live more honest lives than Winehouse. Well all have our demons to face, though, hers were drugs and alcohol. Other people face depression and suicidal tendencies, others have anger, others are addicted to sex because they feel as if it's the only worth people get out of them, others face disease, others are insane, some people murder, everyone lies, everyone cheats, and everyone sins. Life is one massive, sad, progression towards death for all of us. Just because someone may have had struggles in their life doesn't mean that they don't deserve respect. Get off of your pedestal and at least understand that this is a life, and it's a life lost. We all deserve death, no matter how good of people we are or aren't...
/rambling.
|
| |
"Predictable, but still. RIP."
Of course it is predictable, I would be surprised if She was immortal
|
| |
i know alot of people are gonna say, "someone around her should've helped" or some shit like that, but she could have taken responsibility and got control of her life by now (assuming this is a drug-related death). either way, 27's too young.
|
| |
paying respects to one person doesn't imply you don't care about everyone else

|
| |
92 people though..fucking hell
columbine was only around 15
Edit: oh that post just appeared as I posted
also yeah some of the things people say on facebook..
|
| |
It actually was 15, rocked that estimation all the way from the UK
|
| |
She died in camden didn't she? i was there on tuesday last week
|
| |
coincidence/somewhat eerie: 2 of the last 5 lists she was mentioned on on sputnik were called "hey i'm not dead" and "i love being dead." perplexing...
|
| |
I think everyone is just trying super hard to not make a shitty rehab joke. Good on you sputnik users.
|
| |
aw man why does this kind of stuff have to happen to so many good artists
|
| |
I would lie if I said that I care, but whatever, RIP.
|
| |
^ lol ok then
|
| |
Consider these the obligatory SputnikMusic "I wish I cared", and "If you don't care, why are you posting here?" comments.
Fuck around with drugs for a long time, this shit happens.
Serves her right.
|
| |
damn now who am I gonna bet on in next year's kentucky derby
|
| |
I am just holding back tears ATM. Rest In Peace Amy. Your music will continue to touch the lives of many for many many years to come. Sad and pathetic news.
|
| |
I would lie if I said that I care, but whatever, RIP [2]
okay, i was being a dick before solely because i vehemently hate her music, but all the same condolences to her family/people who genuinely cared for her. i just hope she serves as a proper example of what happens when you refuse to respect yourself/get help for your mental issues, whatever your talents and accomplishments (or lack thereof).
|
| |
@hipsterholocaust go away. This news post is about amy winehouse dying. Yes, we are all away of the massacre in Norway but this story is about amy. HENCE WHY EVERY FING PERSON IS SAYING RIP AMY WINEHOUSE YOU MUTHERFING OMFG GTFO NOWt

Moderators: Anyone who dares to troll this post should get themselves an automatic ban.

^^^ yo i completely agree with you... i've been debating it with stupid people all day. but this is a music site. hence music news.

RIP Amy Winehouse you were a very talented soul
@HipsterHolocaust
yes there is definitely such thing as freedom of speech, but when you sign up for a site you are then agreeing to abide by their rules and regulations.
|
| |
I can see someone being a recovering addict having extreme sympathy and sorrow for her.
|
| |
but then why is it wrong to have sympathy or sorrow if you're not a recovering addict?
|
| |
i don't understand why you people act like it's a huge shock, either. She did drugs that's what happens.
She shoulda went to rehab. like they told her. BUT SHE SAID NO NO
|
| |
She was 27? I thought she was ancient
|
| |
Some of the reactions to this news are truly disappointing and quite frankly sickening.
|
| |
shocked, this is pretty sad
rip
|
| |
sad but,
wtf, another 27
|
| |
news has been shitty lately in general
|
| |
Afford to get help? I thought rehab was free here? or is it separate to nhs..
either way, death is always sad. I felt pretty shitty after yesterday's news but numbers are irrelevant. it's always sad. they don't detract from each other
this isn't the place to bitch about your crappy agendas
|
| |
so wait, what happened in Norway? We don't have the news in English here
|
| |
R.I.P.
|
| |
@Zippa:
A bomb was detonated in a government building. Simultaneously, a man pretending to be a policeman shot at a youth camp of 14-18 year olds, killing at least 85 people.
|
| |
@Zippa, bomb attack in oslo killed 7 and a few hours later some nutter went onto a summer camp island and massacred 98 kids, numbers still rising
why did she refuse help anyway? :/
|
| |
Holy shit that's crazy, all in one day? was it co-ordinated?
|
| |
Probably. they reckon some extreme right wing nut was behind it
|
| |
wow shocking
|
| |
rip :/
|
| |
Not surprising, but shocking nonetheless.
|
| |
HipsterHolocaust, thanks for proving my theory that anyone who uses the term "sheep" when talking about people is inherently awful. You say you could care less about Amy Winhouse, yet here you are. And did you ever think that, while I'm busy mourning the 90-some people who died in Norway, I can make room for one more person who died young?
Anyway, I wasn't a huge fan, but I did enjoy her stuff I happened to hear. The worst part of this is the fact that is ISN'T shocking. Because it's been expected, I (and many other people) have been waiting for this news for about 3 years now. So for three years the world has slowly been watching this young woman fall into oblivion. And I had forgotten until today that she was only 27, because she's aged so much in the last few years. Addiction is such an ugly thing, and it's too bad she couldn't beat it.
|
| |
did someone just make an alt and then quote themself? hmm...
|
| |
Sad but not surprising news.
|
| |
Well, he's been trolling this entire article.
Nothing I haven't seen before.
|
| |
--Yeah because having a different opinion is totally a reason for banning a user.--
Posting that opinion like the childish little assholes that seem to come out of the woodwork for these kinds of news posts is.
--but Mods only do something when THEY think it's right.--
I have opinions on Amy, her music and drug users in general, but none of them are positive so I keep it to myself because I know this isn't the proper venue. That's what people do when they get all growed up... you'll see one day, hopefully. So stop with your bullshit.
Also, the Norway thing is tragic but that isn't what this news post is about so why would anyone expect that it should be the default topic here? If you want to talk about Norway, find a fucking news article on it. CNN lets you post comments too, go there.
|
| |
I'm with Willie. Go, to CNN already.
|
| |
Willie is far far too nice for the amount of bs he volunteers to put up with.
|
| |
willie just ban him jesus dude doesn't understand that he's a cunt
|
| |
then stay on CNN and Fox News
|
| |
rip
|
| |
--willie just ban him jesus dude doesn't understand that he's a cunt--
I was trying to give him a chance to back off... too late now. Bans are last resort, not first ;)
As for where I was during the A7X thing. I don't know. Apparently not here.
|
| |
I wasn't a fan of her music, but she had a pretty amazing voice, RIP.
|
| |
She was 27? Ugh I really hope she doesn't get put into the "27 Club", she was nowhere near the talents that guys like Hendrix, Cobain, and Morrison were.
Really sad news though. I hated her music and thought she seemed like a cunt, but anytime someone young dies like this it's a shame. I hope she finds some kind of peace on whatever other realm she's in now.
|
| |
you really are far too nice of a mod bro
but i still love you its ok
|
| |
As if we didn't see this coming at us like a missile.
They tried to tell me not to OD, but I said no, no, no.
|
| |
Don't do drugs kids.
|
| |
Imperial well I don't really care what you think. No one in his right mind can let you disrespect anyone in a thread that was dedicated in her honor. I am not going to engage in any flaming with you because honestly I am above that childish nonsense.

Can't say I didn't see it coming.
|
| |
well that sucks, considering how good and nice she was before drugs
|
| |
r.i.p.
but i cant say i care that much about some crack head alcoholic who didnt really wanna helped in the first place.
|
| |
Not surprising, but shocking nonetheless.
I just noticed how paradoxical this comment sounds
|
| |
Tragic end to a sad story.
RIP.
|
| |
wow...
|
| |
27 club.
Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin..........Amy Winehouse
RIP
|
| |
This is legitimately quite a shocker. Fucking hell, it's always the young ones that go...
RIP.
|
| |
Don't really care (today is the first time I've heard of her), but still:
RIP.
|
| |
i can only imagine what might have happened between her performance 5 days ago and now :[
|
| |
someone on my fb posted this as their status:
JUST LIKE RYAN DUNN, GODS WILL HAS BEEN DONE FOR AMY WINEHOUSE!
|
| |
told my mother about this and she said that she had no sympathy for her cause she did drugs and lived poorly. but still its sad RIP
|
| |
I wish people knew more about her music and less about her personal life. I am very sad about this as her music was something that I could really connect with. She had such an amazing voice, her lyrics were "street", and she was sexy as hell. RIP Ms. Winehouse.
|
| |
i listened to a song of hers earlier it was awesome
|
| |
A damn shame.
RIP.

Shitty news.

Look. Illegitimate grieving!
|
| |
^ Why do you always have to say stuff like that? I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Amy Winehouse fans on Sputnik.
|
| |
Girl had talent
RIP
|
| |
It's interesting how so many people ridicule her death as if an addiction was something she could have easily overcome.
Wait until something similar happens in your family - you'll think in a whole new mindset.
|
| |
Not that surprising, she looked pretty messed up every time I saw her.
|
| |
The addiction wasn't why, it's her apparent low responsibility with it.
|
| |
Don't really care (today is the first time I've heard of her), but still
where the fuck have you been for the past 3 years bro?
God this news has generated some of the worst sputnik posting I've ever seen
anonymity & being an over-opinionated twat does that to people on the internet
RIP Amy, thank you for the memories
|
| |
Saw this on AIM this morning. RIP
|
| |
Rest in peace.
|
| |
where the fuck have you been for the past 3 years bro?
Middle school and highschool. :P
|
| |
amy winehouse found chillin at her London home.
*fixed*
Amy will always live on in our hearts
|
| |
@balcean: alright we straight
|
| |
While I understand that it's sad that she died (as it is when anyone dies), it is not tragic or shocking or surprising when someone who is notorious for drug and alcohol abuse dies.
Her problems were well documented and she refused to help herself. When someone refuses to change a negative behavior or practice as dangerous as her's then it's inevitable that they will eventually suffer the consequences. This is not a tragedy, its what happens.
Unless of course she didn't die of an OD like every rational person in the world suspects, and it was somehow a homicide, in which case I'll look like a true asshole. I'll take my chances though...
Just a thought, and regardless, RIP.
|
| |
whoa a junkie was found dead at 27 what a surprise
|
| |
kinda disappointing to see what a lot of guys think about people that are addicted. where does all the hate come from?
RIP Amy
|
| |
yeah it's disappointing to see people criticise the failures of others
|
| |
"Uhh what..
the 27 cure still continues?"
CURE? Man, you really mean CURE?
Pink: "Life is too short and death is too long. We need to start making new jobs for young people. There is not enough room for tragedy in this small world. We need to live forever and die never. Kids are uneducated, because of the poverty. Such as and Iraq. Love needs to be stronger than hate and hate needs to be stronger than war. #Amywinehouse #Tragic"

Poor girl, I always thought she was older then 27

| |
always found her interesting for some reason and she had a nice voice. Although just as everyone else did, I saw this coming given the substance abuse.
|
| |
"If it really is a priest, he doesn't deserve to be"
lol you missed the joke
|
| |
Strangely enough I'd already considered she might join Jones, Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison and Cobain.
|
| |
yes I must have
@vanityseason, your avatar's writing is unreadable so any cynical/joking statement is lost
|

Really thought she'd release one more album. Such a waste of an incredible talent.

"one less attention-seeking vanity moron with little self-control on the planet, i guess"
should try listening to some of her amazing music you vapid cunt.
|
| |
That is a pretty sickening comment.
cleared it up earlier. i also agree that it's a tragic waste. that comment was motivated by anger rather than hate.
should try listening to some of her amazing music you vapid cunt.
likewise, i stated that i in fact hate her music. thanks for the assumption though.
|
| |
"Was very talented. Was inevitable she would die though.
R.I.P."
Yeah, if only we could get rid of all drugs and nobody would ever die.
I'm pretty sure the point was that it was inevitable she'd die young
|
| |
@balcaen
Don't see how you can hate her music with that sort of passion tbh. It's hardly offensive in any way, just good honest soulful music. To each their own I guess
|
| |
"that comment was motivated by anger rather than hate."
same.
|
| |
She could have done so much more with her life. I guess it was going to happen eventually.
R.I.P.
|
| |
She was on the Celebrity Death Pool in Houston. We all knew she was going to die, so I'm indifferent. I have no pity or anything for her because, quite simply, she ruined her life.
|
| |
"she ruined her life."
i guess no one's ever offered you drugs before?
|
| |
"she ruined her life."
i guess no one's ever offered you drugs before?
There are many people who stay clean, and your comment is kind of an insult to all of them. So yeah, she did ruin her life. It's pretty sad she died, and may her soul rest in peace, but what rjmunthe said is kind of true, if insensitive.
|
| |
Girl was wicked crazy with a crack pipe she will be missed
|
| |
"There are many people who stay clean, and your comment is kind of an insult to all of them."
how is my comment an insult? there's a lot of people who don't have addictive personalities and get hooked.
|
| |
I'll go in a logical flowchart (minus the chart) method.
You said "no one's offered you drugs before" => implies that the person (who is presumably clean based on his high horse [whoo alliteration] attitude) is only clean because no one has offered him => seems to imply this person is not clean due to strength of character.
I always see someone who does drugs as a character flaw, just like being arrogant & other things. Thus, I see it as a character strength if someone is clean, and you cheapen it by saying said person is only clean due to circumstance
|
| |
it's still a false dilemma, not all drug users go into a downwards spiral and many of them successfully stay clean after getting over their addiction. it isn't that she did drugs that she ruined her life, it was that she was irresponsible with them.
you know what hollywood's thinking? biopic.
|
| |
Addictive personality my ass. Weak, irresponsible and lack of value for human life, more like it.
|
| |
@balcaen, I'm not sure if that was directed at me or not, because that was never my point in the first place.
Back to the topic, I listened to "Rehab" and the song was almost self-parody. I feel there should have been some tinge of sadness listening to it, but there's something to be said about her blatant disregard for her life. It was bound to catch up with her.
|
| |
there are some people who are only clean due to circumstance.
"Addictive personality my ass. Weak, irresponsible and lack of value for human life, more like it."
again, have you never been offered drugs?
|
| |
that's gotta be the dumbest and most idiotic thing i've ever heard. she had blatant disregard for her life. maybe i'm an awful person. same reason why i hate fat people. disregard for life.
|
| |
oh so you're a troll.

@Fort23, maybe, maybe not. I guess from an oversimplified point of view, yeah it's possible.
But then again, assuming any given person didn't put themselves in the position to avoid ever using in the first place cheapens their character. My friend (and neighbor)'s brother (who is obviously also my neighbor and friend but he's a grade older) was a weed user (and dealer) I believe. I don't believe he was ever personally offered drugs, but that's only because he avoided any situation where it'd happen. (He ended up getting caught by his parents and is clean now, I think.)
@rjmunthe, I don't know who you're talking to.
|
| |
i was talking to fort. fucking idiot. he's an idiot trying to defend drug addicts. with the exception of marijuana, drug addicts have reckless disregard for life and i have no pity when one dies. stfu you twit. i've been offered countless drugs and you know what I did? didn't fucking do them.
|
| |
sure, pot is one thing, but i don't think too many people started smoking crack by themselves.
|
| |
so they're weak and don't have a mind of their own?
|
| |

maybe you should
|
| |
"so they're weak and don't have a mind of their own?"
I'm happy that you're so stable and well adjusted that you've never had the temptation to take anything. but not everyone is as amazing as you are.
|
| |
Wouldn't be surprised if it was drugs. Or even all the wine in her house.
|
| |
Let's admit it, she has been dead for years. Still, RIP.
|
| |
Wouldn't be surprised if it was drugs. Or even all the wine in her house.
*facepalm*
|
| |
most comments here are just disgraceful. but not only here, not only on facebook. it's astonishing that even people who aren't hiding behind their PCs aren't afraid to show how harsh and disrespectful they are. there's a serious lack of empathy guided by fear, fear and more fear. fine, so she was a weak crackhead with no will to live, despite having wealth, fame and talent (which automatically makes her more responsible than say... a starving kid in Africa) and you know with absolute certainty that if it was your brother, sister or even YOU, the outcome would be different? well done, you are superior. however, once again you've failed to see the bigger picture.
|
| |
Well look at it this way, she's been sober for over 24 hours for the first time in her life ;)
And I don't see why it's so bad that there are jokes about her. Not everybody loved her music (I know I didn't), and her drug addictions had become a running joke even when she was alive. People need to grow a pair and stop getting so tight-wound over some jokes. Fact is, the most f****d up jokes are the funniest.
And yeah, the bombings were important, but this is primarily a music site. Can't really make deviations all the time, no matter how bad the events. If you want to comment on the bombings, go to a news site.
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
sad because everyone saw it coming but were helpless to do anything for her. such is the addict, sometimes. talent....everything gone
rip
|
| |
also lol at the "anti drug" comments in the thread where the super human like to put down drug addicts as "weak" and having "no respect" for life. oh and "fat people" being the same
putting down others for being human may make you feel better and superior about yourselves....but you are not. you're just showing the ignorance you are tied to and trapped in
how superior is that? you have never taken drugs? well, good for you, i guess. but you get no credit for it and it doesn't make you shit but someone who doesn't do drugs. hell dudes, most of us don't do drugs. so get off the high horse
|
| |
The point of those comments (at least from me) was not to state my superiority over her.
At the end of the day, her drug use (and refusal to get help) caused her life to end prematurely (and obviously this is sad news, don't get me wrong. RIP again). And when you consider how defiant she was about it (just check her song), it's just sad that she threw it all away.
It has absolutely nothing to do with feeling superior to her or anyone similar to her.
|
| |

the jokes are the least of my worries. in fact, i laughed with lots of them myself. jokes are jokes, and i wouldn't mind even if this whole thread was full of them
|
| |
Yeah. I don't wish death on anyone, but she was a ticking time bomb. She had bad addictions, and she lost the battle. Plain and simple.
Personally this really didn't bother me a bit. I didn't think her music was anything special and she seemed a bit like an attention whore. Plus if she was going to struggle all her life with alcohol and drugs, then maybe it was for the best she died young instead of living a miserable life.
|
| |
They tried to make me care 'bout Winehouse and I said no no no
|
| |
Crack whore down, I repeat crack whore down!
|
| |
"Plus if she was going to struggle all her life with alcohol and drugs, then maybe it was for the best she died young instead of living a miserable life."
people can and do recover
"They tried to make me care 'bout Winehouse and I said no no no"
people who use that lyric obviously don't know the context of the song
|
| |
Like most I had anticipated this.
R.I.P.
So sad
|
| |
she's not dead guys, she's just having an out of body experience where she's a blunt and can't wake up.
seriously though, huge talent. RIP
|
| |
Sad news.
R.I.P.
|
| |
wow some retarded people up in this thread sup
|
| |
I KNOW RIGHT
|
| |
Rock in Peace, fucking drugs and addiction...always takin' away our musicians
|
| |
good riddance tbh.
|

If you’re going to read just one thing about Amy Winehouse, make it Russell Brand’s “For Amy” here (slow due to heavy traffic, but it will eventually load):

Why would I care what that scumbag has to say?
|
| |
@someguest: that's how I feel about you most of the time, so I understand.
|
| |
Don't worry, I make off the wall remarks about people I don't really know too.
|
| |
"Why would I care what that scumbag has to say?"
Because even though he's annoying as shit, he's actually a good writer.
|
| |
lololololololol
|
| |
shouldve went to rehab
|
| |
What shocks me more is how irresponsible her record studio/agent/whatever-the-hell-you-call-it was regarding her condition. The fact that she was able to get wasted and/or high as a kite before a tour just shows how incredibly stupid her support group was.
This was totally avoidable, but now it's too late. Rest in peace, you had a damn good voice Amy.
|
| |
Not suprised.
|
| |
During my days in the Hellenic Army as a soldier, I knew a colleague of mine who was crazy with Amy Winehouse.
The guy was literally brain washing me EVERY SINGLE DAY about how big Winehouse would be in the music business.
I'm sad for her death, as i would be sad for any person leaving this world, but I'm more sad about that friend of mine, who was a great fan of her work.
I can't quite figure out how her family didn't stop her from going under.....
Her parents should had tied her in a bed or something for like six months or a year feeding her properly, until she would get clean and sober....
It is simply beyond me and i don't quite buy her family's post-mortem regret.
They should had acted before the fire went out of control...
That's what parents/family are for.
|
| |
Too bad she died of withdrawals trying to get clean, 75% of you are assholes. BITCH PROBABLY DIED OF DRUG OVERDOSE ASSUME ASSUME ASSUME.
|
| |
who cares
|
| |
did she die of withdrawal or alcohol poisoning
|
| |
Should have waited until the 23rd to bump.
|
| |
someguest is a fag in 99% of controversial threads who knew
|
| |
what's controversial about this? some junkie died, it happens all the time. that's what they do.
|
| |
but it wasn't even like illegal drugs, it was just an unhealthy amount of alcohol
god the "HAHA JUST A JUNKIE DEAD xDDD WHATEVER" people are so fucking dumb, same with the people in the Lil Phat thread like, "WELL IF HE GOT SHOT THEN HE PROBABLY DID SOMETHING TO DESERVE IT." like no one ever gets shot in the hood for stupidass reasons.
|
| |
So if you overdose on alcohol you aren't a junkie piece of shit?
|
| |
...no?
because
believe it or not
there's more to a person's characteristics then the substances they might intake
I know, it's crazy, right??? i know it's hard to believe that not everyone who's ever overdosed in history or taken an unhealthy amount of a substance is automatically a piece of shit and that doesn't define their whole person but it's true!!
|
| |
Really fucking stupid at least
|
| |
not at all. I've known people who overdosed on alcohol (usually because it was mixed with medication or something) but they didn't even "party" much. it's shocking but even though they overdosed they were not stupid or pieces of shit, just made a mistake ( :
|
| |
whoa there, look how edgy sixdegrees is. don't cross that guy or he might make a 9/11 joke.
|
| |
Oh wow RIP amy < 3
|

omg that's horrible!
