Ohhhh, this is that band with the guy who sounds just like Maynard. I had no idea they were still around. Well, this sure is a different sounding song. I'm not really feeling it though.

I don't understand how people compare Chevelle to Tool when this is much closer.

im not sure how anyone can truly compare anyone to Tool, I have not come across anything that sounds like them sonically, sure every now and then a singer can hit a note like Maynard, but really.. I hate Tool comparisons

Comparing singers to Maynard makes perfect sense as there are plenty of singers obviously influenced by him. Don't be silly, Tool are not so sacred they can't be imitated- badly so or not.

Earshot does a pretty good job, well the vocals anyway. Muscianship is a little stale compared to Tool's. Also I know at least 4-5 bands that imitate Tool in some way or another.

Its not the notes that he hits (Maynard's range is pretty comfortable middle-range) but the tonal quality of his voice.

I mean whenever a band has that concept of quick dynamic shifts between soft and loud, they always get compared to Tool but Tool didn't create that concept. But in the same way the vocally he definitely is trying, and the only other band I can think of that comes closer to sounding like Tool is 10 Years (like....a lot)

P.S. Whats the code for quoting on this comment threads? I'm pretty dumb.
