TV on the Radio Announce Hiatus

2009-09-03 by mx STAFF | 24 Comments
Denizens of Brooklyn rejoice -- TV on the Radio is headed home.

However, before you unearth your stores of ticker tape and 'Cookie Mountain' t-shirts, you may want to keep reading. According to MTV, lead singer Tunde Adebimpe has announced that the band is fatigued with their ceaseless touring in support of Dear Science, and intends to take a year-long break in order to "live a life and change things up."

Back home in Brooklyn, the band's members will likely continue to work on music -- but not together. As Adebimpe says, "everyone's kind of got other projects they want to tend to."

Kyp Malone has a new album out, so it's not like they arent active in other circles.

Good. Bands who don't take breaks usually burn out.
