Thought it would be longer, good track though I enjoyed it especially the ending.
| |
@news/muse in general
dont care.
| |
i know eh
| |
this is stupid just release a track like any normal heterosexual
| |
The ending of this is excellent, but it's far too short tbh.
| |
for some reason this isn't being posted.
| |
From what I have heard is that this is a hashed ending, and they are keeping the full version till the realese of the album.
| |
it's an excellent ending, it just seems too short.
| |
What did I say 3 newsposts ago? This track needs at least 5 minutes to play out. I wouldn't doubt that they may be leaving a longer version for the LP though.
Right now, I'm hyped for the album release. It's still a while away though, so I hope it doesn't get overhyped.
| |
Critics claim it to be their most ambitious album to date. I was a huge fan of Absolution and Oirigin of Symmetry, so I'm expecting great things.
| |
oh good now we can stop having a news post every freaking day!
excited4album though
| |
I am just excited for the Symphony parts.
| |
There's still 2 months left Adam. I'm sure they have got more goodies left to leave over the streets of the world. Maybe you will find the USB card in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
| |
Lmao... I'm really excited for the last track on the album.
| |
LOL Davey
this is what i was making fun of the other day when i got a facebook thing saying i could get RSS updates of sputniknews, idk if i care what jesse lacey said to a girl in the crowd last night
and yeah this is officially the most pretentious and laboured 'leaking' process i've ever seen
| |
Yeah should be swell. Here is some info about it:
http://www.musewiki.org/Exogenesis:_Symphony_(song)
| |
So I shouldn't post the news item that Matt Bellamy personally told me that he really plays every instrument from the tuba to the cow-bell on this new album.
| |
Now Davey how could he possible play the Cow-Bell?
| |
I liked the track but I still don't know to be excited or not about about the album.
| |
Personally told you eh?
| |
Pretty damn good.
| |
i still like OoS, but this band is far too political for my tastes
| |
OoS is a 5/5, and Absolution is a 5/5 too.
| |
wonderful ending.
now looking forward to the album.
| |
I don't get the fuss about these guys.
| |
Then you are missing out on so much
| |
Upon first listen, disappointed. The song was just....over done? The ending was cool until Matt started say "United States of Eurasia". I dunno, just a little TOO theatrical for my taste.
| |
What's everyone raving about the ending for? I was a little underwhelmed. It's a good song, and I expect a lot out of the album, but so far this seems just a bit unoriginal and "done before."
| |
Such a sick song.
| |
I no longer care about this band after hearing this song.
| |
Is their new album one of Queen covers then?
| |
"It's a good song, and I expect a lot out of the album, but so far this seems just a bit unoriginal and "done before."
-How much further do you think we can innovate music?
"I no longer care about this band after hearing this song."
-That's a shame.
| |
i was a bit underwhelmed as well. i like the lyrics though
| |
this is stupid just release a track like any normal heterosexual
you read my mind
| |
"EuraSIA! SIA! SIA! SIA!" consists of the ending...
| |
"you read my mind"
well this just isn't fun.
| |
I'm not feeling it. They're ripping Queen off too much and the ending is just laughable
| |
lol... yeah, right.
| |
I'm not feeling it. They're ripping Queen off too much and the ending is just laughable
This.
| |
I'll listen when the album comes out.
| |
maybe it is short cause it's a video edit of the album version? i suppose it could be possible.
| |
I don't like it when Muse are resisting things, or have a [political] cause to support
| |
The reason it's shorter is because the studio version has the song "Collateral Damage" at the end of
the same track. The final version will still be 5:47.
It's all here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Resistance_(album)
| |
all of this hullabaloo has started to piss me off a bit. love their music still, but i dunno what to think of them as people. or maybe it was the record company's fault.
| |
That song was kind of bad... the ending was... hmm.
| |
yeah they must be horrible people i mean what sort of nasty people have fun
| |
maybe i didn't word myself correctly; i can understand a band having fun and if it has a reputation like muse does, i guess they can do whatever they want. but i look at the comments and it seems like the song was not worth the trouble.
| |
Heh, Muse's publicists would beg to differ!
| |
you're right about that. but after listening to the song, i can say the vocals are getting cheesier and cheesier.
| |
Wow, that song sucked.
| |
all of this hullabaloo has started to piss me off a bit. love their music still, but i dunno what to think of them as people. or maybe it was the record company's fault.
| |
yay, you got my pun!
| |
It just doesnt seem like they are evolving their sound at all.
| |
did you even listen to this song yet?
| |
Why do I feel like I just listened to Queen?
| |
Sorry guys, the treasure hunt isn't over just yet. Even though the song shows 6/6 parts, there is still one station left to be activated. If you go to muse.mu it will show " Recognition from USA required." The last key is in New York.
| |
It's such a Queen rip off.
| |

SEVEN KEYS HOLY CRAP BRENT WAS RIGHT
they're horcruxes.
| |
Hahaha! Horcruxes! I wonder who all they killed to make them...
I posted this to my friend's facebook wall as soon as I saw it and we both started listening to it at the same time then we simultaneously posted on each other's walls "dude, it sounds like bohemian rhapsody!" and "does this remind you of queen a little at some parts?" haha
| |
brent and i have come to the agreement that Thom Yorke is the final horcrux and it is his destiny to defeat Matt Bellamy for he is the chosen one.
| |
very good!
I think maybe Muse see themselves as the new Queen...?
| |
wow this song lix dix.
| |
I'm sure they aren't that foolish, especially when the real Queen is still around and touring. It's not as if Muse hasn't used piano and electric guitars in other songs before. Sure this song is pretty awesome, but come on, it's not exactly unexpected.
| |
if u download the song the whole thing comes up... it is 5 mins long
| |
I gotta adimt, this song is pretty meh. At some points they sound exactly like Queen... idk. I'm just hoping the rest of the album isnt like this song.
| |
All this treasure hunting and we get an average song.
| |
I liked the song....
| |
People need to stop comparing this to Queen, seriously.
| |
i'ts like comparing snape to die hard, it makes sense
| |
Stop comparing it to Queen? BUT IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE QUEEN. With a touch of Coldplay's Yes. in there. The song just sounds like recycled music. It's a good song, but nothing they should have released. This sounds like a song on the album I would change right away because it's boring and overdone.
| |
Why would it be a bad thing to sound like an older band? I don't get it, would you rather the music just progress into more poppy stuff? I think people will always look hard enough to find a reason to bitch, but judge the song, not its influences.
| |
there is a marginal difference between being influenced by an older band and completely aping them.
| |
Dude, I'm not looking for a reason to bitch. After 3/6 I was thoroughly excited about this song. I thought to myself, "wow, it kinda has a Queen sound to it. Pretty Cool." But i was waiting to find some sort of interesting guitar or something signature Muse to it to really bring it together. I did not get that. I was left hanging with something that sounds exactly like another band. And the song itself is meh at best.
| |
You were waiting for some interesting guitar? Like people have said before me, the song will probably be lengthened and added to on the actually LP, if not it's still not a bad track. I fail to see how this 'apes' Queen; just because they were psuedo theatrical doesn't mean other artists can't be.
| |
Yeah, I understand that. But it just sounds overdone IMO. It just sounds like an overdone theatrical sound that sounds too much like Queen. I'm hoping the LP version is better. I'm still planning on purchasing this album. Hopefully Uprising is a lot better.
And i agree, it's not a bad track, it's just not a strong track. I'd take every track from OoS over this song though.
| |
Well that album is simply put: classic. I'm looking forward to the orchestrated song at the end of this album, but I'm trying not to get too excited, I often find myself disappointed.
| |
The orchestrated song does sound like it's going to be awesome. Especially the 3rd part Redemption, which is going to apparently be "very heavy indeed." I wonder if it's gonna be their hardest yet, or heavy like Knights of Cydonia. Who knows... I'm excited though.
| |
Knights of Cydonia was great, but I didn't like it as much as others. We'll see what happens. This will likely be the only record I actually end up buying from the store this year.
| |
guys lets all go into this with REALLY high expectations
| |
Sounds like a plan
| |
Ending was way cool! I'm still hoping for more from this album...
I mean it didn't make me go 'OMG OMG muse muse muse!'
| |
Origin of Symmetry is basically their best work, besides Absolution.
| |
BHAR and Origin are tied for my favourite.
| |
Origin probably has the best songs. although my fav Muse song is Map of the Problematique. I hope this is awesome.
| |
Kris, you are right, Thom Yorke is Voldemort and Bellamy is the last horcrux
| |
Yeah they are yet to release a bad album. BHAR got me into muse, so I have a soft spot for the album.
| |
At least the piano outro isn't overly pretentious like a lot of what matthew bellamy plays.
| |
Yeah because there are pretentious melodies.
| |
the melodies are thinking for themselves the end of music is near
| |
lolol.
| |
How can piano playing be pretentious? Coz he is good?
| |
Matt is a god, honestly.
| |
euraSIA euraSIA euraSIA
| |
Don't forget guys, there's an addition to this song.
| |
Does it go
united STATES united STATES united STATES
| |
i'm not too optimistic about what this addition is going to sound like. i'll already be skipping this song alot on the cd itself
| |
It hasn't been released.
-100 comments, 1382 views, it's official, people love Muse.
| |
I think this songs speaks volumes as to what we have come to expect from Muse. Because frankly, if almost any other modern band had released this song they would have been castrated by now.
| |
It seems like Muse no longer see or understand the fine line between having a good time playing music and taking your sound and message a little too seriously. If it's any indication to go by, Resistance won't be remembered in 10 years time.
| |
"and taking your sound and message a little too seriously"
Obviously we shouldn't be taking anything music related seriously, music is more or less a joke. Unconstructed music is clearly the best choice.
"If it's any indication to go by, Resistance won't be remembered in 10 years time."
We'll see.
| |
"It seems like Muse no longer see or understand the fine line between having a good time playing music and taking your sound and message a little too seriously."
This statement shows that you know nothing about Matt Bellamy, Dom Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme and that you don't read or watch interviews with them. Matt has acknowledged that USoE is just a fun song and is a bit of a joke compared to the rest of the album.
| |
Pretty much this^. Though, I'm sure that comment was designed to annoy others.
| |
This statement shows that you know nothing about Matt Bellamy, Dom Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme
And you do because you watched some interviews and read a wiki?
| |
My comment wasn't designed to annoy anyone, why would I bother with annoying people I've never met and don't know anything about. It's the way I feel about the song, I don't require or wish for any information from interviews, webpages or wherever you can get it from, to colour however I feel about an initial listen. Thanks for giving me a laugh by trying to bite down on thin air though.
| |
The Resistance doesn't really need to be an epic 4.5 rating on Sputnik album. In 10, 20, 30 years time, people will look back at Origin of Symmetry and Absolution as landmark classic albums. Muse have already made their mark
| |
You stated that Muse no longer plays music because they enjoy it and that they take everything too seriously. I am just pointing out that anyone with a smidgen of intelligence would be able to tell that that is the exact opposite of how they are.
| |
Song was boring. What a waste of an overblown marketing ploy.
| |
Man, it's a shame that they spent all that money just on your consideration!
| |
i feel the same and i am pretty sure much of the album will be lacking energy in the same way.
| |
The song is already being played on triple J (aussie radio station)
To much fanfare
| |
Adamwd, I did not state anything, I said (opinion) this song (note: not everything, this song) made it seem like 'yadda yadda'. Don't rephrase or twist another man's words just to make an argument because you come out looking like a fanboy ass, especially if you add insults to boot.
| |
Some people like it, others do not... It's gonna be funny when this album comes out and totally kicks ass though.
| |
I'm just trying to understand how this song could make you think they don't enjoy making music anymore. I'm not trying to insult anyone or act like a fanboy.
| |
Kris, you are right, Thom Yorke is Voldemort and Bellamy is the last horcrux
NOOOO!!! other way around.
| |
Really, just listen to this if you want assurance that this album will be incredible.
