Muse Treasure Hunt Finishes

2009-07-20 by Frenchy STAFF | 120 Comments
Last week we reported that as part of Muse's "Project Eurasia," 100s of fans have been rushing around Paris in search of USB keys containing 30-second clips of the new single 'United States Of Eurasia.'

All six parts of the song have now been located and the full track is now available to stream in its entirety. The running time is 3:44, nearly two minutes shorter than had been rumoured.

What did I say 3 newsposts ago? This track needs at least 5 minutes to play out. I wouldn't doubt that they may be leaving a longer version for the LP though.

Right now, I'm hyped for the album release. It's still a while away though, so I hope it doesn't get overhyped.

Stop comparing it to Queen? BUT IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE QUEEN. With a touch of Coldplay's Yes. in there. The song just sounds like recycled music. It's a good song, but nothing they should have released. This sounds like a song on the album I would change right away because it's boring and overdone.

Dude, I'm not looking for a reason to bitch. After 3/6 I was thoroughly excited about this song. I thought to myself, "wow, it kinda has a Queen sound to it. Pretty Cool." But i was waiting to find some sort of interesting guitar or something signature Muse to it to really bring it together. I did not get that. I was left hanging with something that sounds exactly like another band. And the song itself is meh at best.

Gyromania

You were waiting for some interesting guitar? Like people have said before me, the song will probably be lengthened and added to on the actually LP, if not it's still not a bad track. I fail to see how this 'apes' Queen; just because they were psuedo theatrical doesn't mean other artists can't be.

zachbredberg
July 21st 2009
86 Comments

Yeah, I understand that. But it just sounds overdone IMO. It just sounds like an overdone theatrical sound that sounds too much like Queen. I'm hoping the LP version is better. I'm still planning on purchasing this album. Hopefully Uprising is a lot better.

And i agree, it's not a bad track, it's just not a strong track. I'd take every track from OoS over this song though.
