No Doubt to regroup and tour

2008-11-24 by badtaste | 18 Comments
American pop/rock/third wave ska/alternative rock group, No Doubt, are to reunite for a tour in 2009, as well as release their first studio album in seven years.

The band responsible for such hits as "Just a Girl" and "Don't Speak" last played together in 2004. Since then, singer Gwen Stefani has embarked on a succesful solo career. At the start of this year, the band (minus Gwen Stefani, who was pregnant with her second child at the time) have been in the studio working on new material.

The announcement was made on their official website (http://www.nodoubt.com), in the form of an internet chat transcript.

Sweet. I was starting to get a little tired of Stefani solo.

Nice. Tragic Kingdom was the first album I ever bought and still one of my favorites. I always held out hope that while Gwen was off doing her own, horrible thing the rest of the band might do something awesome without her. This will be just as cool, though.

Tragic Kingdom and the album prior were good but I didn't really like anything after like "Hella Good" and all those songs. Return to more rock/ska roots!!

I'm checking their site constantly!
I NEED to go see them!

Thank goodness Gwen is finally going back to when she didn't make terribly annoying music!
