Posted because he has some interesting views (although not necessarily correct), not because of Slipknot.
Imo, live with it.

the quality of released music is so bad, no-one wants to buy it. is he trying to say that the CD we get is of lower quality than the Mp3's we download? Is it true? From what I know mp3's are max 320kb/sec VBR, but CD is 1800kb/sec.

I think he's saying the music biz is signing shitty bands that no one wants to buy their music...

This article is positively dripping with irony, even though I like the new Slipknot.
|
| |
What a moron
|

I love reading slipknot quotes now after reading the Guitar World interview with Mick and Jim about how much they hated recording this album...and Jim even said he didn't understand why he and Corey had two bands...classic, especially since slipknot and stone sour have been sounding more and more like eachother.
|
| |
Haven't heard it yet, tbh.
|
| |
Ironic.
|

Corey is a brilliant
|

Can't say he's completely wrong.
|

Probably the smartest thing he's ever said (not saying much).
I haven't bought the new Slipknot. Then again I haven't pirated it either.

yeah he's definitely not wrong in assuming this

The law of averages says he has to say something intelligent eventually.
You know me. I've been in the frontlines dissing Slipknot before for making ear-rapingly awful music and hiding behind gimmicky masks to conceal their utter lack of talent. But Jesus fat-free Christ, it's not as if it takes a space genius to figure out that prosecuting downloaders is only exacerbating the situation.
I give the man enough credit to be able to tie his shoes without killing himself, and that's about all the brains you need to figure out the incredibly obvious in this particular issue. This Message Edited On 09.11.08

People pirate because they love music and they're generally broke. If most people are like me, then pirating is just a way to filter out the bullshit so you can decide what CDs you really want to spend you're hard earned money on. It has nothing to do with "bad quality". There are loads of better albums (than Slipknot's) released this year, yet for some reason they still debuted at No.1. To me that means more people should pirate so maybe they'll spend their money on a band that deserves it.

I have always wondered what Corey Taylor had to say about Piracy!!
