MTV has posted an article about a recent visit to Underoath's recording studio where they were in the final stages of mixing thier latest record. The band provided some insight into their recording process and what the new album will sound like when it hits shelves September 9th.

A few points made about the album were:
-It will have 11 tracks and clock in at 42 minutes.
-The album title "will make all album titles up to 2008 disintegrate"
-There will be guitar solos and NIN-esque electronic effects

The article can be found at the following link: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1587931/20080522/underoath.jhtml

The band also stated that they will be taking part in the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour alongside Mastodon, Dragonforce, Disturbed and others.

If it's anything like Define the Great Line, this should be an awesome record. I wonder what the title is...

From what I've heard on the studio videos, I don't think these are going to be like traditional metal solos, but more like the super atmospheric stuff that like Pelican/Cult of Luna does. I think they are kinda following along that general path that Define the Great Line took.

If thats the case, I'm interested. I wish they would get rid of the wussy vocals that make little boys want to cut their wrists.

42 isnt that short. Define the Great Line was 45 and the track lengths ranged from 2:56 to 7:02.

So when Norma Jean was blow'n up Define The Great line was made and I drew come comparisons.

I wonder how much more "Metal" they will incorporate?

I mean these guys use to be "Metal" way back in the day, so why can't they try again?

But Define the Great Line was alright and I guess i'm kinda pumped for this. Still, this will not touch DCFC's Narrow Stairs.

can't wait for this. and all the people hating on them seem to just be taking cheap shots... i mean, if you don't like them, that's cool, but there's no need to be a dick about it. :P

Although I grew out of them I'll still check it out because I used to listen to them so much. I like the fact that they're expanding outside of Warped. I think they finally reached the point where they're better than that. The album ends in "ation". Oh the possibilities...They mention the word desperate a lot...desperation? underOATH always overhypes themselves. Thank God they're just overhyping the title on this one. I remember a quote before Define The Great Line came out from them. "If you thought our old stuff was amazing, wait until you hear this stuff." I don't know that just turned me off of them and their music for a while. I did get to see them live at Warped. They put on an alright show. A lot of energy. This Message Edited On 05.24.08

If you've ever talked to the guys after a show, they're really not arrogant in any sense, they just dick around a lot.
