the performance was so brutal. I mean, instrumentally it was sound (though Moe oddly played it a little slower, when he usually does the opposite live) but Rody's voice is totally shot.

the video was pretty cool. didn't make any sense conceptually but it was entertaining. rody comes off crazier than ever and arif busted out his headless bass.

Sweet. One of my favorites from Fortress. I love Rody's peaking scream near the end.

Canadians can't stream of American sites. Blame the FCC/CRTC. Not on YouTube yet as far as a search an hour ago proved, but I'll edit stuff in as it becomes available.

Yep, Arif is pretty much the best, and Rody is great just for his whole-hearted douche-bagginess.

Video is not bad. A little cheesy at points (that flash thing when the band members get caught bugged the hell out of me), but it's Protest The Hero. Hence, awesome.

Rody isn't a douche at all though, he's actually a nice guy who was smart enough to separate his "image" from his personality. This Message Edited On 04.26.08

Rody is quite nice, his stage persona and his actual persona are a lot different, I've talked to him tons of times, he always remembers me, and we always go for a smoke. The rest of the guys are really nice too. They've never come off as rockstars, just dudes that wanna go drink. Rad dudes to drink with too.

Arif is just hilarious. bottom line. during the live show i went to he made flagrant attempts to make my roommate think that he was hitting on him. winks, blown kisses, and even a shush finger.
oddly awesome

Arif is the most talented in the band imo.

All in all, PtH are the future of post hardcore inflected with metal and such I think.

My friends hate the bass that Arif has in the video. I think they are cool but my Thumb NT is freaking godly; so easy to play Turn Soonest to the Sea on bass with it.

Most of what Arif does is easy to play, but fucking.... major kudos to him (or whomever) for writing it. And having it mesh so well with the guitars. These guys are still god.

I wouldn't say most. alot of it is just simple rhythm but he does a lot of great scales and tapping riffs. He is nowhere near other bassists though.

I watched those interviews (the ones I could). I thought they were funny too. The guy interviewing them was trying to be all serious about how they got the idea for the album and Arif was just like "yeah shrooms helped." They all seem like pretty cool guys. Hopefully I'll get to see them before too awful long.

Thanks for posting that YouTube link BDlitz.

Arif is probably the coolest guy ever. That part where he looks like he is shotting the arrow is perfection.

The instrumentals from this band never cease to amaze me... but im sorry their vocalist is just fucking terrible..

he has two decent moments. When hes screaming in the beginning and when he soft sings for like 10 seconds near the end of the song.. I really want to like these guys but this guys voice LITERALLY gives me a headache. Help me understand please :-(

You'll just have to get used to it.

I like the video for Bloodmeat better though, this was still cool though.
