Neu!, Kraftwerk drummer dies 2008-04-02 by Iai EMERITUS | 14 Comments | Klaus Dinger, one-time drummer of Kraftwerk and founding member of Neu!, has passed away just 3 days short of his 62nd birthday. The cause of death was heart failure.
Needless to say, Dinger was a major figure in the genesis and development of krautrock. He can fairly be credited with the popularization of the 'motorik' beat on both Kraftwerk's self-titled album and Neu! first three self-titled efforts during the '70s, something which surely places him among the most influential drummers of the rock era. Stereolab, Silversun Pickups, Tortoise, Can, David Bowie, Disco Inferno, Sonic Youth, and Julian Cope all either have acknowledged, or should acknowledge, his influence on their work.
His date of death is March 21, although his family and friends have chosen only to release the news today.

| | | This is pretty sad but wizard at least made me laugh with his retarded statement.
| | | Hahaha I don't usually like electronic music (look at my profile) but I grew up listening to Autobahn, Radioactivity, Man Machine, and Computer World. I just find a lot of electronic music boring, just as some people would say heavy metal is boring as shit too. Just an opinion.

| | | This is really the only electronic music Ive ever enjoyed. A bunch of my friends love electronic music but its never really appealled to me, except if you count industrial as a form of electronic? I will check out Tangerine Dream.
