Pumpkins seek more money

There can't be many more pursuits as expensive as being a Smashing Pumpkins collector these days. So you bought Zeitgeist from Amazon and iTunes and Walmart and Sainsburys and Mars and wherever the hell else to collect all 32 individual bonus tracks, and then you went to see them live, only to find out that they're STILL performing songs you've never heard before. Bummer, right? Then you got the American Gothic EP only to find out that this one track wasn't on there, either. What the hell does an obsessive fan need to do to please a balding megalomaniac anyway?

Well, since you ask, you have to buy the upcoming Guitar Center album. No, seriously. From March 1, outlets of Guitar Center will be selling an album featuring tracks recorded by their employees. The albums will also feature "SuperChrist", an unreleased Pumpkins track that has been performed semi-regularly on their recent tour.

Meanwhile, the Pumpkins have also accepted a bung from Rupert Murdoch and have now joined the ranks in the almighty epic war against Facebook. The video for "SuperChrist" will premiere on MySpace on February 27th.

Eh, Siamese Dream was nice, and Mellon Collie had about 1 disc of good material

but the band is pretty much washed up now.

i choose to remember billy corgan as the angst ridden, black haired genious he once was, not a washed up greedy prick.

Actually, this CD is going to be FREE at Guitar Center. Its a comp CD of GC emps trying to come up. The Pumpkins apparently chose the songs that made it as part of some sort of contest.
