Beatles Guru Dies

2008-02-06 by londoncalling457 | 14 Comments
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a guru to The Beatles who studied with him in 1968, died Tuesday at his home in the Netherlands. Bob Roth, spokesman for the Transcendental Meditation movement which Maharishi founded, said that he died peacefully and his death appears to be from "natural causes, his age." Although, his date of birth has not been confirmed, Maharishi was thought to be 91.

He lived a long life. Sad, but nothing horrible.

Someone said some Indian guy who was close to the Beatles died today, and I thought it was Ravi Shankar. I was glad to find out he didn't die, but this is equally sad

Congrats for living until 91, and working with the Beatles. What a lucky guy.

It's not sad.. He has lived a very long life, eventually everyone dies, so living until 91 is not sad.

Doesn't make it any less sad. It's just not as sad as if he had died at like 20. To be honest, it's a stupid thing for me to creat an argument out of.

Haha this is hardly music news...The Beatles constantly talked poorly about their time with him...George was the only one who enjoyed. John thought he was a phony.
