Blabbermouth.net reports that a superstar band consisting of Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash, ex-White Zombie frontman Rob Zombie, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian will perform KISS's classic 'Gods of Thunder' at Vh1's first annual 'Rock Oscars'.

The event is the first of its kind, an awards show to pay homage solely to the artists who've helped to shape hard rock and metal. Honouring this year: Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Queen and KISS; who will be paid tribute by Godsmack, All-American Rejects, Foo Fighters and the aforementioned line-up respectively.

The two-hour show will be taped Thursday May 25 in Las Vegas for broadcast next Wednesday, May 31, at 9pm on Vh1.

When most of the original members are there, and they go under the name Queen it's not really a cover.

Yeah, they didn't inspire millions of people or anything.

You can inspire as many people as you like, but that doesn't mean they're good does it now. In fact i'd rather have my eye gouged out with a rusty fork than have to listern to that awful "God gave Rock'n'Roll". Which is a very strange song to write considering they are Kids In Satans Service. KISS should all be shot repeatedly through the hand with some form of nail gun. I don't like them

God Gave Rock And Roll To You was a cover of an Argent song, a band Kiss used to open for in their early days.

Gene has said in many interviews it doesn't mean anything.

yes it will be lame, new godsmack rocks though, it is KISS, as in To Kiss, that is a fact stated by the band on many occasions . .

Whoever says that KISS stands for Knights in Satan's Service shouldn't be in any position to judge KISS because you obviously don't know much about them aside from a couple of their singles.

So go and listen to an album or two and then come back and judge them.

KISS is being "honored" by having their songs played by people better than them? Kind of ironic.

It's not people better than them. Why don't all of you guys go create a band and keep it running for 33 years.

I dont think those guys were better than Kiss in anyway. The really didnt have the same energy. Queen and Kiss were proberly the best acts. Plus I doubt any of those new bands will stand the test of time.
